Best .... A pair of John Doe M/Cycle jeans. Worst .... Nothing I can think off.

Merry Christmas, and lets hope we all have a shiny side up 2023

Yes, mine was the pipe that feeds the tap in the garage .... If I didn't use it to wash the road salts of the bike I think I'd have probably left it as well. I've had the dehumidifier running all night, everything down there was soaked.

Welcome to the group .... You think horses are expensive .... Now you've been bitten by the motorcycling bug, prepare to be permanently skint, and continually looking for excuses to rationalise buying more parts or another new bike!

Yep, I agree with Geofferz on the MT10 front. Brilliant bike but it certainly gave the neck and shoulder muscles a workout at speed! .... My physio loved me for all the extra visits I had to sort my neck out.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, appreciated. Good day, wife spoiled me as usual, even got a ride out in the sunshine ..... Which served as a reminder to me about how much I dislike riding on icy roads!

So it's not a Police matter, but will be down to local councils to decide if action is taken against an offending driver , in the form of a fine? Of course, councils, IMHO, will not be pragmatic, they will fine whoever is caught. Drivers are little more than cash cows to some of these tinpot dictators. This guy is going to make money out of this technology without doubt, councils will be licking their lips with glee once they can get hold of, and install these.

Gloves are brilliant. My wife has the Keis heated waistcoat. Like yourself, she had a couple of op's, and when she got back on the bike she was feeling the cold. She loves the waist coat. It isn't bulky, fits under her outer jacket neatly, and it doesn't cook her, it just keeps the chill off and helps maintain a constant temperature. Not the cheapest but they certainly seem to work.

Customising/painting a Motorbike Helmet?
manxie49 replied to Jemz's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Not sure about the legality? Although I do know of a few people who have had them done. Having it done professionally isn't cheap. The correct paints and adhesives need to be used to prevent degradation of the helmet material. I believe the paints etc have to be solvent free for starters? I'm sure there'll be someone on here more knowledgeable on the subject than me. I personally prefer to leave my helmet as stock. After having a spill myself and seeing the sort of impact the helmet can take, I just wouldn't like to think I've done anything to potentially weaken it's integrity, personal choice though. Have a look at this on Wiki, may give some information for starters. https://www.wikihow.com/Paint-Helmets -
I have literally, last week, just test rode a BMW GS at my local dealership. I had to bring my driving licence and a utility bill as proof of address. There was a £500 excess on the dealer insurance, they gave me a form to sign, a type of agreement. They let me take the bike for the afternoon, I had it for about three hours. Remember they want to sell you a bike, so may even waive the insurance excess, I know they did this for someone else I was chatting to over here.

As has been said, no such thing .... Also worth reading the small print on some of these cheaper policies as well, they may not all cover what you want them to. Try this site as a starting ground. https://www.mcncompare.com

Do Electric motorcycles suit petrol heads
manxie49 replied to treborrolyat's topic in Motorbike Chat
Totally agree with what's already been said .... As an example, the Vector, British built electric sports bike. As has been said, not enough range, too long to charge, and a price tag starting at 90k .... I mean come on, FFS, how many mere mortals can afford something like that, which would be nothing more than a toy. -
Another one here for MyRoute app and Tom Tom. I also rely on the time honoured method of a map .... Technology sometimes has a habit of letting you down. However, the tour for me isn't about arriving at the destination, it's more about the ride there. With that in mind, I tend to know the rough direction I'm heading in (N, S, E or W) point the bike in that direction and just ride .... Probably why I get lost so often, but what the hell

Same here, the medals I have mean nothing to most people now. I still represent the mucka's I had that never came home, down the road at the local war memorial though.
