1. Aah very sensible. So’s a bit of Hawaiian tropic though
2. But what’s- power bronze screen?! Is that something like Hawaiian Tropic?
3. Very excited for you. Looking forward to hearing the updates. Gear and preparation sound great. Just a little green eyed!
4. Not on this occasion but I have before
5. Look for college courses. These are govt subsidised and offer excellent value for the number of hours tuition. Don’t know how old you are but if under 18 there are loads of options that are free. Google colleges near you or type ‘motorcycle maintenance course’ into the marvel that’s the internet and see what’s thrown up.
6. Yep that’s pretty much the state of things. I find it more than annoying that doctors n nurses are not considered ‘Essential workers’ but lorry drivers are (that’s ok, just how is a medical person not?!). When you have a little gander at the cost of what’s delivered we’re doing pretty well. Don’t get me wrong it could be better but do we really want to go back to a model where lower socioeconomic groups die?! That’s what happened before the NHS. Rant over.
7. Seriously can we go back to talking about biscuits?!
8. Who is Muddy Sump? The day after my little 125s first service the exhaust fell off so I decided not to go back there and went to a recommended guy down the back of the back of some shoddy looking units. He seemed like one of those quiet considered types who might do a proper job (Im told he does) blow me down he did the service for £53!! Bet that doesn’t happen with my next bike! Forgot to take my book to get stamped though- doh!
9. Fundamentally hate having my phone stuck on my bike and fully endorse the “let’s see where that road goes method” but as someone who should get sat nav on prescription I couldn’t survive without it. I was using your aforementioned let’s see where it goes method on a test ride a couple of weeks ago and had the usual “it’ll come out somewhere” thought before the slow and painful dawning I was in Wales and no it won’t necessarily come out anywhere in fact in was looking decidedly unpopulated and unsigned. My hours test ride ended up at two hours and thank god for sat nav. Would have been in trouble without it, didn’t have a clue how much fuel they’d put in and there were no petrol stations either! Back on topic- I still fail to grasp how we can’t have access to something we’ve paid for unless it’s a possessions 9/10s of the law nonsense.
10. SometimesSansEngine we’re not all weirdos living vicariously..... mostly though, just not all.
11. Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien - Edith Piaf
12. Dude I totally miss you- Tenacious D
13. Great They are friendly in there aren’t they and Cheddar ales next door sell gluten free beer Plus they price match and will get in pretty much anything you want, quite handy.
14. We were lucky with the aurora, like i say raining most days but Saturday night cleared up a treat despite forecast saying otherwise. First food- Cheese! Cheese here is terrible, and good imported cheese is expensive, then sausages, Oh and a pot of Yorkshire loose leaf tea. Then I'll Probo cook a nice piece of roast beef, plus I've got a hankering for a nice fresh Thai salad. Now I’m hungry!
15. goat great pic, I’m jealous as I’ve always wanted to see the northern lights! Toastie sounds a disgusting and the doughnut burger is starting to sound appealing! What’s the first dish you’ll be eating when you get home?!
16. ....cheapest I have found......https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/382907 SCM, you b*****d ( ), just when I thought I had bought enough new toys......now you've set me off on new helmet time. You know that feeling that goes from "glance" to "hmm - could be interesting" to " very interested - let's do a bit of research" to "obsessed - now how can I justify a low-food diet for the family for a couple of weeks".......guess which stage I'm at now? And, sadly, the comms gear is looking like a necessity as well.... Gotta be Anthracite to match the bike....... Your welcome “Enough new toys” what is this “enough new toys” you speak of? I heard some monks n stuff can go low toy but “enough” no, that’s a misnomer spread about by Buddhists and weirdos that live in trees living sustainable lifestyles. Gotta be worth a week or two on pure carbs potatoes, pasta n bread, no family would complain about that when they see the joy your new toy brings. It’s been in the papers recently that a review of all the research has shown carbs are not bad for you and we should be eating them so really your putting your family first As you’re going to cave before I get mine you can come back and tell me how great it is.
17. There’s one for kickstarter! I’d like Jeeves to do mine. Although the lady’s voice in my ML is really rather posh. The sat navs rubbish, it constantly says off route and stops working. I paid the exorbitant update fee the garage wanted and it’s still rubbish so now I use 2 sat navs.... and still get lost Will millions of pounds on a new system fix that?!
18. How’s it going in the car?
19. Another bonus of DAS if your ready for it (I wasn’t hence staying on a 125 for over a year) is you won’t be riding around with the L plate target on you. Something happens to people when they see it and they’ll do some pretty dumb/thoughtless stuff to get in front of you or worse hover an inch off your back wheel. This behaviour stops when the plate comes off!
20. I imagine you’ll find the 125 very lame very quickly and the DAS will probably suit you as the others are saying you’ve already ridden bikes so have a lot of it down already. The insurance though will likely be eye watering but only for the first year. My 125cc was £500 for the first year and surprisingly only £125 the next. Ringing the insurance companies will get you better results as you can ask them to better the other companies offer. I was looking at insurance yesterday and a company called ‘Go Skippy’ was half the price of most of the others, and that was without any no claims and no security devices logged. May well be half the cover though!
21. Yep hood jeans make a lot of theirs to order so you can request any size length combo you like. Never been to this place myself but the Mega Motorcycle Store in swindon is massive, might be worth a visit.
22. Lol a conservative estimate of 4 billion dollars of hush money points to complete innocence.
23. Its a staggering waste. I’m not sure how it stacks up legally either. If you pay a certain amount towards an item (that is not a gift) surely you own a percentage of that item so how can the other owners tell you that you cant have access? I suspect someone’s friends are stuffing their pockets with taxpayers money and laughing all the way to the bank. How else can this be happening?!
