1. Then mend it dear Henry dear Henry dear Henry
2. Google revit hip protectors. They are slimline and flexible. Obviously the CE rating is lower than something like D30 but its better than nothing.
3. A bit dishevelled dont you think, are they the police motorcyclist division from the Police Academy film?
4. Hes busy appeasing cat... or perhaps not as preoccupied with the cats future trajectory and busy riding around Scotland
5. How will cat lay claim to its rightful throne as ruler of the universe if it gives up being protest cat and becomes suicide cat?
6. We once took a flight up to very high altitude out to Iceland (and back again no landing anywhere just back where we started ) which would apparently that high up be a great view of the aurora borealis. It was such a disappointment the bloke commentating told us they’d only ever had two flights where the northern lights hadn’t been seen. He then gave a LONG running commentary on absolutely nothing before in a highly excitable thrilled tone told us “there it is, there it is, its incredible, we've seen it again” I looked out of the window and saw what may or may not of been a smudge of dirty green, couldn’t swear that Id seen anything. Another expensive kings clothes experience. So the Northern lights are still something Id like to see. The other places sound great. Are they doable by bike?
7. The cats actually come from a recent trip of its own to greenham common where cat learnt how to block vehicles from leaving, this is a peacful protest "no you cant go of on a jolly round Scotland and leave me behind, go ahead then leave but Im not moving"
8. The Carpathians look amazing but I can't pretend this doesn't put me off a smidge- "They provide the habitat for the largest European populations of brown bears, wolves, chamois, and lynxes, with the highest concentration in Romania” My geography is terrible I didn’t realise how many countries make up Asia. I tried to find a decent map showing all the Asian countries to educate myself a little but they seem conflicting and have different names for the same places. The Caucasus mountains sound AMAZING- “The Caucasus Mountains have a varied landscape which mainly changes according to elevation and distance from large bodies of water. The region contains biomesranging from subtropical lowland marshes and forests to glaciers (Western and Central Caucasus), and highland semideserts, steppes, and alpine meadows in the south (mainly in Armenia and Azerbaijan)." Its so varied Id imagine it would either take a fair bit of preparation or a endless budget time and money wise but I reckon it would be worth it. America and Spain sound like easier starters. @slowbusa What do you mean back on a big bike, something Ive missed?
9. That’s sounds great, definitely epic stuff. I think I’ll start with something equally ambitious, where about in Berkshire are those trees? My favourite bucket so far is my ice bucket but it doesn’t seem to be helping me get up and go it’s seems to keep me planted in one spot, is it broken? Hmm my plans to harvest the fine minds of tmbf has not been as fruitful as I hoped. I’m becoming suspicious I’ve been sold a dummy regarding the calibre of member
10. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to squeeze two more tests in between now and the 11th Aug. Get booked up and ask the instructor if cancellations are a possibility.
11. Bit of Collonil balm on those leathers and I bet they’d come up like new
12. I believe there are pills availabe that send people into orbit
13. On a goat thread I’ve discovered courtesy of SlowBusa that giant sequoias are a tree that’s on a lot of people’s bucket list. I don’t have a bucket list just a few vague ideas of things I fancy doing. Do you have one, what’s on it or what have you already done thats worthy of being on one? Yes I am planning to skim off the good stuff for my own benefit, ra ha ha haaa!
14. giant sequoias They are on a lot of peoples bucket list Oh thanks, thought sequoias was a place- doh! Never been a tree person but I can see why they would be on a bucket list.
15. Come on let us in, is this a style statement, fancy dress or a gift for a rubiks geek? If it’s you pic please!
16. Hi. Nope that won’t be easy to find! Maybe consider making the trip to your nearest j and s accessories. They carry a reasonable amount of women’s gear at mostly sensible prices. Have a look at their website (they display what stock is available at what store) and if the one you fancy isnt available you could order it into the store to try on at the time and get refund straight away if turns out you don’t like it after all. Trying on is useful because fit is important, you don’t want something too baggy beacause it won’t stay in place if you come off and there’s the placement of the armour to consider- does it fit well over the part it’s supposed to protect and is it going to be comfortable in a riding position, plus do you like it because if you don’t it won’t be long before you’re looking for another jacket which can be a bit of a false economy. You might also want to think about how many seasons the jacket will do you for-removable thermal liners, do you want to fit a jumper underneath, are there vents etc. The temperature span you’ll be wanting to cover to be able to ride comfortably for longer is quite large. Lastly if you find the jacket/trousers and you’re in the store spend some of your phones data allowance googling that specific jacket because sometimes someone’s selling precisiely what you want a lot cheaper. I picked up a jacket I have that was £120 in the store for £60 from eBay brand new and I preferred the colours! Hope that helps.
17. If I saw those trees near Chernobyl I’d be freaked out! What type of tree are they?
18. Thanks everyone for the marvellous advice. Got paddock stand, chain cleaner, lube, and scrubby brush thing. You won’t be surprised to hear the chain was unhappily bone dry and had a plaque of dried black on the sprocket, another oops to add to a growing list of motorbike oops’!
19. Or this? SlowBusa Where are you??!!
20. Yep when those alarm bells start sounding and that weird feeling creeps over you you are always best listening to them and backing off. I hear there are nice folk about who may pay for your meal or invite you in for the night when you’re on the road but from what you’ve said he does sound a bit dodgy. Food sounds very disappointing but for no apparent reason I’m not surprised, I think that would wear me down more than anything else! A decent break will refresh the soul and probably sort out some of that vertigo!
21. Mind if I ask if you tried out the scout or scout 60 before going for the bobber and how you landed on that one rather than the other two models?
22. I’d go with what your instincts are telling you. Then if it turns into option B or C remember you have crappy instincts and don’t trust them again, unless you’re dead of course which would be a shame because I like this thread
23. Very informative. Thankyou very much.
