  1. Going for a short ride on the 350 Meteor today at 13-00 will let you know
  2. Only what I found on the internet/youtube. The dealer had nothing related to the new Classic he admitted he didn't know anymore than me.
  3. Signed on the dotted line yesterday for a Classic 350 delivery next year. It has the same engine as the Meteor 350. Its a bit lighter than my FZS600 Fazer and obviously a lot less power but hoping I take to it. I'm thinking I might have a test ride on the Meteor 350 to see if I can live with the smaller engine. I cant ride a Classic yet as they are not available. Just like a kid at Christmas. John.
  4. When I took my MOD2 a couple rode in on a big bike looked like hubby and wife/partner. Wifey took the test and her mate waited in the waiting room so yes it can be done ive seen it first hand.
  5. Have you tried putting the bike in gear then pushing to see if the engine turns?
  6. Thanks everybody for the replies, I can feel a ride on a Rebel coming on if I can find one. I really want to stick to Jap although the new 350 Royal Enfield looks a contender but its looks very small (said the actress to the Bishop) I sat on one a few weeks ago it does feel light but on the specs its nearly as heavy as the Fazer.
  7. Hi all, looking to buy a lightweight cruiser (if such a thing exists) I am riding a Fazer 600 from 2003 about 210kgs love the bike but need something lighter. 74 years old next month. I dont mind going down to 250cc but would like something bigger but still light. I read some where that the Rebel is 200kg but carries its weight lower than the Fazer. I am finding town riding and manual handling a bit too much for me these days. I think I have asked a similar question on here before but cant find it to see the replies. Being an old fart I like the look of the old bikes as opposed to the new look (the big gap between the rear wheel and the mudguard) Is anybody riding a Honda Rebel to give me a bit of advice or suggestions for an alternative? I have read the Rebel is not very popular and not very well liked, why is this? Thanks John.
  8. I bought a 125 Yamaha just after doing my CBT I got some miles under my belt for a few months then went DAS. It was the best thing for me as I dont think I could have passed my DAS without the experience on the little bike. I sold it and got all my money back so well pleased. John.
  9. My Fazer 600 Foxeye did exactly the same this year after standing a few months. The first time it happened when I went for first gear the bike tried to move forward and stalled, the clutch plates were stuck together. I let it run to warm through then started it in gear with the side and centre stands up with the lever pulled. The clutch parted and has been fine ever since.
  10. A company in London started trading with a very similar name years ago renting cars. I have no idea if they are still in business.
  11. The method I was shown and have been using for over fifty years isn't just welding a nut to the end of a broken stud. Cheers John.
  12. I did offer to show you how its done with the welder but was ignored. You younguns know best.
  13. I hope you get the studs out, if you struggle and want me to post my tried and tested method using a welder (mig preferably) I will, John.
  14. Thanks for the reply, I had not seen it until now. The bike is still resting but you have reminded me I put the bike away without antifreeze. I am bricking it now, I will check in the morning for frost damage. Thanks John.
  15. Have you tried a comfort blanket, some children take one to bed, it might help.
  16. A semi rotary pump is what you need, very simple. Cast iron body we have used them for the last fifty years. Just google "semi rotary pump" dont let the fact its a manual pump put you off they can really shift some fluid. Hope this helps as they say. john.
  17. A little update, I found a guy close to Huddersfield to properly clean my carbs but have not had the time to fit them yet. Will update in the new year. John
  18. Congratulations well done.
  19. Cant seem to master it guys, I will just stick to advertising in Marketplace for now. Why do they make it so fecking difficult to place a simple ad in Instagram. john.
  20. Thanks for the replies, will open a business account as suggested, thanks.
  21. Morning all, looking for a bit of help placing an add on Instagram. Iv'e googled, youtubed, searched all over but all I see are tutorials telling me to convert to a business account. This seems to be for car dealers with more than just one car. I am ok with Facebook Marketplace but would like to include Instagram as well. I think its possible to link them together but dont know how. I want to show a photo with a description of my own bike or car. I'm sure it must be very simple, any help would be appreciated. Thanks john.
  22. Have a look here your bike might be listed. https://www.manualslib.com
  23. The bike has been lifted onto the storage racking in the workshop for a month or two. I have been making a camper from a Peugeot Expert but will have to get back to the bike next job. I am sure the carbs are at fault starving the engine of fuel. Looking for recommendations from members as to where I can send them for cleaning inside and out. Thanks John.
