  1. I'm with the previous two posters - stick to your guns and just take this disappointment on the chin, because within a week you'll wish you'd gone the DAS route and bought a bigger bike.
  2. Yes, I'll definitely have one at some point, but I'm a bit skint at the moment so my target is this time next year, I think. There are indeed some nice roads in them there parts. I was actually going to head down into Great Missenden, but I only had the bike for 45 minutes so didn't really have the time. Good stuff I hope you end up getting one in a years time . If you change your mind and want two more cylinders and an extra 50 BHP along with half roasting you alive whenever you’re in town traffic mine will be for sale next spring .
  3. Can't really add to this thread, save to say that my first ever bike was a CG125 (orange), purchased around 1980. I do have a photo somewhere of me standing next to it, sporting a curly perm

  5. Quick shifter with auto-blipper. I do refer to that later in the video.
  6. It’s incredibly torquey though (and it seemed like a lot of power to a relative novice like me).
  7. Well, I'm pleased to say that I haven't traded in the triple just yet I have managed to upload , though.
  8. Oooh, I'm very excited!!! Anyway, I'll be sticking some footage on YouTube so stay tuned
  9. You're right, it is about three times the power. Thank you, and I will be careful.
  10. Oh good, more for me
  11. I've been drooling over the 2019 Diavel S for a while now, but tomorrow morning the nice chaps at On Yer Bike in Aylesbury are giving me their tester (just in and currently still in the workshop) to take out for a ride. 1262cc, 159bhp, 129NM... an absolute beast of a bike and almost unique in it's hybrid (some might say strange) sports/cruiser styling and performance. I don't think I've ever fallen for the looks of a bike as much, so it'll be interesting to see what it feels like to ride it. If I like it as much as I think/hope I will, I'll have my no. 1 objective for 2020 sorted!
  12. I'm doing my bit to protest against this barbarism by refusing to stay in the £800-a-night Hotel Bel-Air. I shall also not stay. You know what? I’m going to cancel my booking
  13. Ain't that the truth
  14. I need to give this some thought
  15. Always, both filtering and bus lanes (when appropriately designated). In an urban environment there’s not a lot of point being on a bike if you don’t.
  16. What a wonderful video I've uploaded. Seriously
  17. I'd have thought now is perfect timing. Wait and you risk everyone local buying for the beginning of the season elsewhere.
  18. If you're a medium, I can let you have a very lightly used one of these at a nice cheap price - let me know if you're interested.
  19. It's a great journey, isn't it? It doesn't seem to have an ending, either
  20. The problem is made worse by the fact that clothing/gear designed for riders of retro/modern classic bikes is intended to be suitable for use both on and off the bike. It's a whole different approach and one that carries a specific risk profile. (I should add that I understand and accept that risk, as I don't want to wear the alternative which is more or less racing gear.)
  21. I realise that I might get panned for this, but I've had to put the baffle in my new Yoshi exhaust. Aside for fearing a revolt from the neighbours, I was finding that - at low revs - the rumble was reverberating inside my helmet and was actually unpleasant. No problems at speed, but as I ride a lot in town it just wasn't working for me. Anyway, the baffle has now been installed, and it still sounds pretty good, as you can see ... thoughts? On the funny side, I had a feeling that if I did it myself I'd drop the securing bolt inside the end cap. What do you think happened when the nice man at Triumph set about doing it as a very quick favour? Yes, in it went, and the bike ended up in the workshop with the can off
  22. Absolutely the same for me. Having said that, I always feel reassured when I have my trousers on. (Errr, by which I mean my armoured trousers - I don't ride in just my boxer shorts, ever )
  23. Ditto - this seems... right, though, doesn't it?
