1. That confusion is completely understood but you know already that your stance needs to be based upon objective consideration, rather than any kind of emotional entanglement. In the past I've had similar conflicts with regard to vivisection but my position is actually very clear when I think about it properly.
2. Way, way, way over the top. I don’t want to invoke Godwin’s law but there’s no place for the kind of “justice” as history will tell us. I don’t even want to have to read it. I would have no problem at all voting to bring back capital punishment. Where's the deterrent in this country to stop heinous crime? Even if you would, I'd suggest that shooting people in the head for theft would be a tad harsh, no?
3. I haven't really contributed to this thread, but I'm a MASSIVE fan and I'm thoroughly enjoying this season; in fact, I don't really understand the criticism that I'm reading across the internet. It was always going to end with some epic battles, and I don't think the writers could have done a whole lot more with the script than they have done. There's been a fair amount of character development and the rapid convergence of various plot lines was an inevitability that I think we should all have expected. Also, there's much talk about the constraints of just six episodes but nobody seems to be mentioning that they're all longer than the previous seasons, so really more akin to 9. Anyway, I think Emilia Clarke's acting has gone up a level - she's actually quite menacing now - and I have a feeling that Jon Snow now knows what he has to do. Really looking forward to the finale.

5. Ah, the good old “I’ve bought it anyway, but is it any good” approach
6. I switched to gear oil after I popped a new chain and sprocket set on my bike, and I have to say it's absolutely spot on. I need to learn how to apply a little less as I slightly overdid it the first couple of times. However, there's not even a hint of corrosion after many weeks, and it doesn't seem to be picking up a great deal of dirt. I certainly won't be switching back to lube.
7. Goldtop have the style you want, have been around for about 75 years and are cheaper than most of the competition. Here you go
8. You have to go some to beat the Weekly World News
9. Perhaps I will, Joeman. Anyway, it charged up pretty quickly (I think it was about 6 hours until I got a steady green light) so at least I got to ride it over the long weekend, if only for a couple of hours. The new horn sounds far, far better too!
10. It was fine when it started up, actually, much to my relief. Sadly I can’t keep the bike plugged in to a charger as I keep it in the garden. My ex got the garage
11. Well, that didn't go as badly as it normally does when i attempt any maintenance or DIY myself. I managed to feed the cable from the battery terminals into the pillion storage area so the connection for the charger will now be ready and waiting should I need it in the future. It's all working as it should, it would seem, so by tomorrow morning I should have a fully charged battery again I had to check what kind of battery I had, mind... I was expecting lithium but it's lead acid.
12. .... Do I hear jealousy creeping in there six I'll be waiting in the room x
13. Thanks for that. I'm off to Halfords in a few minutes to pick up the charger that Stu linked to earlier in the thread. I'm going to fit a permanent lead and feed it under the pillion seat so assuming the battery is okay I'll be in a better position anyway once I've done that.
14. I’m up there three days a week for the next 6 weeks or so (I’ve already done 4). Happy to meet up for a beer - I’m usually on an early train on Wednesday, heading back south on Friday evening. Where abouts you staying? The County Hotel.

TRAIN!! Wheres the fun in that I know, it’s killing me not riding up, but I need three day’s worth of gear and it’s just a bit too far to be practicable. I have thought of renting something over a weekend, actually.
16. Yes, mines under the seat too - I just need to remove one bolt and the seat can be removed. Thank you, @fastbob - I need to get it sorted early doors tomorrow as I’m in Newcastle for work for most of the week and I want it charged and tested before I go. I might have given it a go, otherwise. When you getting to Newcastle? I'm in Sunderland and bender is in Newcastle so maybe if you are free will have to meet up for a few beers? 18. No, but presumably it'll retain the mileage on the odometer? Yea odo will remain just the trip will reset That’s a relief - thank you.

20. That's the one I have put aside - collecting it in the morning. So, to be clear... extension lead into mains plug in kitchen > charger into extension lead > grabby things on battery terminals? Also, will anything on the bike need resetting?
21. Thanks Stu - I did just edit my post and I think you've answered the question whilst I was doing so. Presumably I can just plug it in inside the house using an extension cable?
22. I was fitting a new (louder) horn to my Street Triple yesterday and this morning I couldn't find my keys. Sure enough I'd left them in the barrel and - unfortunately - the ignition was on! I've tried bumping the bike and have been unable to get much of a response from the engine. Having nearly killed myself getting the bloody thing back home I'm intending to call out the RAC to jump start it. Is there any reason I shouldn't do that? Edit: Alternatively, would I be better off popping over to Halfords and picking up a smart charger (and do they just plug into the mains supply in the house)?
23. I'm prepared to make a distinction between a bug and a cat, even if it isn't very Buddhist to do so. Yes, it happens, but it would have an impact on me if I did it. See this is the problem, people's perspectives, I find vegetarians that eat fish odd, mostly they don't belive animals should be farmed and killed on demand for the needs of human consultation, yet they are happy for fish to be dragged out the water and be left to drown. Wonder how they would feel about drowning cows. I'm not having a go either I just find the whole human condition amusing. I get the having an affect too, I had to kill a seagull when I was a child, I didn't like doing it but it was like the cat, non recoverable. A lot of people struggle with this and I guess we all respond to the demands that we place upon ourselves. There's no reason why these demands should be consistent from person to person, as our values as individuals are going to vary. I was vegetarian for six years earlier in my life and people told me I wasn't a proper vegetarian because I wore leather shoes. However, I wasn't trying to comply with anyone else's belief system, just my own, so their opinions didn't matter to me.

25. I couldn't be so blasé if I ran over a cat (or any other animal, for that matter) - I'd be genuinely traumatised.
