However during lockdown when the roads were virtually empty it was all too easy to go faster than realised as there was no other traffic to judge against. When my wife was hospitalised for the entire month of April I found myself going faster than I intended loads of times but fortunately never got pulled for it.

Use engine breaking all the time. Not had an issue yet. Just a touch of brake to activate brake lights to indicate to numpty behind that I'm slowing down as I don't really want to be a bonnet ornament.
