  1. Last time I was in Germany I was behaving and queuing then a couple of German bikes went past filtering so I thought wtf and followed. No issues at all and made easier by the German habit of the queuing drivers pulling over to the edges of the carriageway to allow emergency vehicles through. I'd maybe more cautious in Switzerland or just go through France instead.
  2. So do I when ship is properly at sea out in the big blue. First "proper" weekend since I joined. The rest have just been mental.
  3. Won't be in Rotterdam until 24th October. It's 11000 miles by way of the Cape of Good Hope.
  4. When you buy diesel to put in your vehicle the name we carry it by is " High Speed Diesel ULSD 10ppm" . Basically what every petrol station sells less any additives the likes of Shell choose to put in. Our sister ship just discharged the same quantity in Milford Haven so any one telling you stuff is so much better from"X" brand is talking out their bottom.
  5. Good afternoon from the Indian Ocean where after a week of no Internet normal service has been resumed. Have the pleasure of 36 days at sea to look forward to as we proceed to Rotterdam with 141,000 tonnes of 10ppm sulphur Gasoil.
  6. I've come to the conclusion that insurance is basically a tax you've got to pay to enjoy your bike. Blood sucking leaches really.
  7. F@@k tiger to you too!
  8. Don't get all cocky and plant it in a hedge!
  9. My jackets both have D30 Ghost which works for me.
  10. We might be going to the dogs but we don't yet need to worry about a missile coming through the roof so I'd say it could be a lot worse!
  11. Have to say I don't. I just use whatever back protector is in the back of my jacket.
  12. Had a hoopoe on board this morning. Hopefully made it to wherever he was going.
  13. Consider my mind well and truly boggled BUT I have to ask - what were you actually googling for that to show up? On second thoughts perhaps I'd rather nor know.
  14. Very true. My son and one of his mates had the chance to play Rugby professionally. My son declined saying that he played for fun; his mate did go pro and had a few good years playing for Bath, mostly from off the bench but ended up disliking the game.
  15. True but the replacement I've got meets emission standards including noise and looks a zillion times better. This vs this clonker:
  16. Very umm. Just umm.
  17. Got my machinist to make up a new longer hanger for mine so I can fit the panniers on with my new exhaust. Does anyone know why manufacturers install these huge usually ugly things on otherwise decent looking bikes?
  18. Not quite that bad. Jeans and t shirt quite acceptable.
  19. My wife and I only eat in the dining room. Old fashioned that way.
  20. Good morning from Khor Fakkan where yet another day of this interminable cleaning is going on. The boss was over for a few days and I begged him to send me back to "my" ship. Just laughed and said I needed a new challenge. It certainly qualifies for that!
  21. Shame you can't put something nasty in there like giant hogweed.
  22. The Picos De Europa a bit further west aren't bad either.
  23. Try asking the Multistrada forums there's more chance of someone having done something similar. The nearest I did on my Multistrada which was the smaller one was Kielder forest road which isn't really 1000 miles in Morocco. I had the original Pirelli Scorpions on at the time and they were OK.
  24. My wife drinks Earl Grey but I'm not a huge fan. My tea of choice is Yorkshire Gold which given I am Lancastrian by birth is a bit shameful.
  25. Yes indeed. My wife sent me a photo from home this morning with it looking decidedly wet.
