  1. I always wear balaclava just for that reason, at least during the summer.
  2. I wouldn’t mind any modern day Ducati, those are modern myths about maintenance and quality. One nice Diavel I wouldn’t mind Sorry but after owning a modern Ducati I can attest that they’re not quite myths, build quality is fine but not quite up there with a Japanese bike, servicing is more expensive but isn’t more often and they seem to be engineered not quite as well. If I was going Italian again I’d go for the Aprilia. I owned Ducati, Monster 620, got it immediately after they came on market. I was furious about it and sold it after just year and half. Dropping parts along the way, electric problems, all the time something. After I sold it I said never again. Than friend of mine got Multistrada pikes peak in 2012 Since then he covered 60000 miles. Regular service and nothing else, never ever any problem. Maybe is that particular bike, maybe he is lucky bast*rd, but I can here more and more satisfied Ducati owners. At the end Ducati is the premium brand where you pay that name
  3. I do understand you, all my life I work on rotations, 30 years ago it was 8 months work 2 months off, these days is equal rotation 10 weeks on 10 off. And it is always difficult to get back in business. But after day or two it will be like u never stopped.
  4. If u are mad enough this is enough, half tent, sandwich and bottle of water. All night rain as well. Ok that tree helped a little

That's a bit of an unfair generalisation. I know a lot of younger people (and I just about define grumpy old fart) who are absolutely capable of doing DIY stuff including one who's way better than me at anything mechanical. Also if younger generations are raised by the older generation who's to blame if the youngsters are somehow deemed to be failing? Presumably us as the old farts. By young I meant today’s 20 years old and younger. As well maybe some late twenties as well. It is difficult to generalise but starting from my own kids if you turn them off internet and smart phones they become useless. Mechanically most of them have no clue how to use screwdriver.

  8. Weight is not first and most important but how is spread over the bike. Much heavier bike with lower Center of gravity will feel lighter and easier to push and paddle around. Some cruiser type will be easier to handle, just try there are some good looking bobbers
  9. Short levers, I had them before, they look good, but I didn’t like them. Prefer long, standard levers

Young generations become useless which is bad, but what piss me off is when you help them they are ungrateful k..ts. That’s why I don’t even try anymore. Send them to garage and that will have to pay for their stupidity
  11. its the cookin food part Im thinking off really. if i go fishing etc i can take large pans and a big stove. but for the bike thats all too much. im good with fires but wouldnt want to break rules anywhere and some places have banned them in the heat for good reason. Depends, if u are at camp site maybe they have barbecue area, but if u are somewhere on your own you just build small pit and light your fire, piece of stick to put your fish on and u don’t need a stove, pan or plate. Sometime u just dig a small hole in the soil and u don’t need a pit. Make it simple, my wife and I we were on the same bike and we used to go 2 or 3 weeks camping. Everything will fit on the bike.
  12. Obviously you will need a tent, don’t get for two people, it’s small. Get for at lest 3 or 4 people, sleeping bag, if u are not used to sleep on hard surface than u need air mattress, self inflated camping mattress are to bulky. If u fancy coffee or tea in the morning, u need camping gas stove, torch, Thats is, basics
  13. Till late 80’s 50cc bikes helmet was not mandatory in that time Yugoslavia. So I did ride around 4 or 5 years without one. As well renting motorcycle on Hawaii helmet wasn’t required and we went everywhere without it. Anyway where temperatures goes over 30 degrees Celsius From 8 in the morning ,only jet helmet is an option. Same with protection gear. Once you spend 2,3 months in climates like that, safety standards rapidly goes downhill.
  14. I got my exhaust with certificate, in any case I still have oem if anyone try to be clever.
  15. All that looks perfect on pics and in the brochure. It is much different once you are there. I can tell you that. i am in cruise industry 20 years already.
  16. All over the Eu is easy at the moment, but it can change from day to day. As well return to uk u newer know what will be in week or two. When I went to Croatia beginning of June everything was fine. Up on return two weeks after I had to self isolate for two weeks.
