But here's a thing. I was toying with the idea of buying myself a tractor to visit some of the farms I go to - silly idea but it kept me amused for half and hour. Another thing to consider is a top box. 
That will give you both peace of mind. 
It will definitely make her feel safer.

Have a look on eBay or FB for gear. She’s gonna keep growing so you’ll be going through gear every year probably. You can always put it back online when she’s outgrown and recoup something back. 
Explain to her that she mustn’t get on or off the bike until you give the nod. Nothing like a pillion getting on or off when yours not ready. Recipe for a dropped bike. 
You can buy a pair of pillion love handles for your daughter to give confidence. It’s a belt with handles for her to grip. 
 

Also don’t forget you have her on the back. You won’t feel any weight. I used to check my son and daughter were still on the back when they used to come out with me as I could feel them on the back. Used to reach back on grab a leg. lol

Back in 1999 I  worked in Ireland installing Sky Digital.

There was about 25 of us flying around in white Astra 2 L turbo Diesel vans

I was over there for around 8 months and we stayed at the holiday houses next to the Elephant & Castle (as it's called now) opposite the Potter's Point Golf Club (as it's called now).
We often used to fly over Sally Gap in the dark in the the van's! It's stunning in the daylight.

I'm going thorugh a bit of a phase of not wanting to go out on the bike much this year. Think I've been out a bout 5-6 times

The only 100% waterproof gear has the word Gortex in the description. 

I have a Rukka 2 piece suit I’ve had since 2015 and can’t even remember the model name that is still 100% waterproof. 
Last year I traveled from Grimsby to Grantham for my service at the beginning of May. It pissed it down on the way there and the bike was sideways on the A1M the wind was howling that hard. One the way home the temp dropped to 2 deg and with that came the hailstorm. Once through that I hit the pouring rain again. At one point I met an oncoming wagon as we both hit a dip in the road at the same time. It chucked a wave of water all over me up to the top of my lid!

A few seconds later I thought the water had got through somewhere as I felt soaked. Soon after I realised I wasn’t wet, it was that the water was freezing cold. That sensation soon went away and I was really surprised to find that I was bone dry when I got home and took my gear off. 

The boots I was wearing are TCX Baja Gortex, bone dry feet

The glove’s I was wearing are Rukka Imatra Gortex, again bone dry hands. 
 

I got the suit the suit in a sale and it’s been a proper investment. I’m a fair weather rider but know if I do get caught out I’m going to stay dry and most of comfortable. I remember the days of being wet through on rides and it not fun.
 

There are bargains out there to be had on Gortex kit.
Look on SportsBikeShop for Gortex and I’m sure you’ll find kit in your budget.  
 

The dive is definately pre load as you have correctly identified. The best way to make sure you have the preload  set right is to put a tie wrap on one fork leg (the inner part) as in the pic.

Go out and do a few emergency stops then check where the tie wrap is sitting. It should ideally be about an inch from the bottom of the available travel. If it's lower than that, then add more preload and vice versa.

Basically you don't want so little preload on that your forks to bottom out.

It may be just a case that you need to get used to the bike.

Suspention setup is always a compromise as every road is different. Unless you have a bike with electronic active suspention, but even then some road can test these.

I would have a look in the handbook and put the suspension back to factory settings. 

It may already be at factory settings but at least you’ll know and you can then take it from there. 
Look into setting your static sag up after that. Loads of info online. 
Once you’ve got that set up just change one thing at a time.

Go to extremes fist off and see if you can work out what the change made the bike do. 
Suspension is a black art but it’s fun learning what each adjustment does. 

 

R&G ripped my fairing. See earlier post of mine. 
 

I had bungs on a CBR 600F and when I had an off I left the road and the front wheel tucked underneath me and then the bung dig into the soft grass verge the bolt bent and ripped the fairing. 
 

I have sliders on my VERSYS 1K which essentially the same set up around the engine as the Z. 
 

I would say Kawasaki sliders for your bike. 

Tracer 900

Versys 650 or even 1000

Depends what style of bike you like. 
 

Go and test ride loads of different ones is all I can say.

Have you looked at thicker internal pads to make your lid fit better? Some brands of lid do thicker & thinner internals.

It was the equivalent of a 1000cc sports bike back in the day. She fell off and broke a nail and that’s why all the tests were changed.
