  1. I’ve never used 4 fingers on the brake. Always 2 fingers (index and middle) I find it more flexible this way as you can blip the throttle on downs shifts. Using 4 fingers is too rigid for my linking. No throttle control.
  2. I had a Givi Air Flow screen on my Versys 1000. I went through a lot of screens until I found the Givi. It’s was brilliant. I could ride with my flip front up at speeds up to 90mph. Here is a link to a write up https://www.adventurebikerider.com/article/givi-airflow-screen/ Air pressure can make a difference to buffeting. On cold day when you get low pressure you will get more than on a hot day with high pressure. The Givi combatted this as it has a massive scope for adjustment.
  3. You have to buy a dog now, and make loads of videos with your pooch on the back wearing them.
  4. I agree, but you can feel this and adjust accordingly.
  5. Adjust the clutch lever for minimum travel. You want the clutch to disengage/engage a couple of cm into the first bit of movement so you don’t have to pull the lever all the way in. You will only be using the first one or two knuckles of your fingers instead of your whole hand.
  6. Only use the clutch to move off, using clutch control, down shift and when the bike comes to a stop. The rest of the time employ clutch less shifting. This will save your hand a bit from pulling the clutch in so much. Some clutches are stiffer than others also.
  7. Another important reason you should go easy on new tyres is so you can get used to the way the bike reacts. You won’t have noticed it, but you will have been putting more force on the bars in order to get it to tip in off the flat spot of the old tyres. It will be immediately clear that the bike will feel so much easier to roll off the centre of the tyres when they are brand new. Don’t be scared of them, just ride smoothly with no aggressive acceleration and gradually increase your lean angle.
  8. The examiner would have been hit first from behind Yeah always give way to traffic in the major road if you can’t merge. Pisses me off when people force their way onto the major road like they have priority. This is dangerous and can cause big accidents. Not saying you forced your way in. I imagine the examiner knew about the temp 40 limit though as it was on the test route, so knew there would be one of two outcomes. You’ll nail it next time.
  9. ??? You been on the spice?
  10. Well done Kevin Short, sweet and interesting. You actually left me wanting more of the article instead of giving up early. Keep up the good work.
  11. Phillip Island usually throws up some surprises and is not a reflection on how the season will pan out. My top 5 in no particular order A Lowes Iannone Locatelli Bulega Toprak Bautista I know. That’s 6, but I think when Bautista is fully fit he will get to grips with the extra weight. I can’t call a champion just yet, but with Rea out of the picture this year I would like to see Alex take it. This on Iannone https://www.motogp.com/en/news/2020/11/10/andrea-iannone-receives-four-year-ban-after-losing-appeal/163581
  12. Eurosport used to record the WSBK all day. Then a couple of years ago it changed to separate recordings for supersport and superbike, then individual races when it started showing on Discovery+. It’s a pain I the arse trying to get them recorded now. I missed the whole of race 2 on day 2 because of the red flag in the supersport race. I did find it on D+ the next day, but I’d already inadvertently seen the result. It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s the beginning of the end of WSBK being shown on Eurosport and it going to a paid subscription somewhere.
  13. This is the only image I had in my mind.
  14. Maybe eBay or a dedicated auction site for bike memorabilia. Probably cost you a fair few £££ though.
  15. I would look at getting a new rear as that is seriously squared off.
  16. You can get the most up to date version from here and it’s free. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code
  17. I would spit on it every time you go past and if you can get away with it, piss on it every now and again.
  18. Why was Captain Kirk’s wife pissed off? Because William Shatner.
  19. Looks like that blue stuff gave up a good fight. I wonder how it got up there??
  20. Are you changing the fork oil? After doing such a good on the externals it would be a shame not to do the internals and make the bike ride as good as it’s going to look.
  21. Apologies, I misunderstood your OP You should be able to find a microfiche online for your bike and that will give you the dimensions of the bolts. Then, like you say just get some slightly longer ones. Hopefully you’ve got the right ones ordered already.
  22. I wouldn’t use just a single bolt to secure your mount to. It’ll shake and bounce all over the place. You need at least two anchor points to keep the mount stable. The bar above the clocks looks like a perfect place to look at mounting One on Ali Express https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006012292909.html?UTABTest=aliabtest481469_657498&src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=17858129175&albag=&trgt=&crea=en1005006012292909&netw=x&device=m&albpg=&albpd=en1005006012292909&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD6I-hHBjMiLeriQxekyT0f2vOoHv&gclid=Cj0KCQiAwbitBhDIARIsABfFYIKUnWmlsx6NNDL3xwYELJCXPjc5xxaLcB1FnsIhjnAGqH3wX6co9DYaAg9WEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=67d8864db2dc4120bdd9ed40f648f804-1705951322356-05906-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=67d8864db2dc4120bdd9ed40f648f804-1705951322356-05906-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=f94011e3f5a64fdf9a16d7b5869761e5&OLP=1086700608_f_group3&o_s_id=1086700608&afSmartRedirect=y FC Moto https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/?channable=02099069640039363039323835363884&ObjectPath=/Shops/10207048/Products/"GPS.11.823.10001/B"&Locale=en_GB&srsltid=AfmBOorfWvJUx_Zr8v5z0IIj0upqe1vGKemkj8iIiVAbvsNpWV4qmEJHHJE SW MOTECH https://sw-motech.co.uk/products/gps-mount-for-cockpit-black-triumph-tiger-800-800-xc-xr-10-17?variant=37388636848289&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&srsltid=AfmBOorOOVwaEu2_s6NPuNsW-4kFfUjZ89l3n8D9Xs0JcdqoRJO7vZveSCQ
