  1. It amazes me that we know more about our mates then we do of our own family and heritage. It seems that it's always been this way. Especially when you watch these sort of programs on TV. At my Uncles funeral recently when the eulogy was read about his life I realised that I didn't really know him like I thought I did. Same as my Granddad!
  2. Best was having my seat recovered and gel inserts put in and a set of Givi engine bars for the Tracer. Great piece of kit! Worst was a really cheap odour toilet spay! Hopefully the local charity shop will take it off my hands. I know the gesture is there, but I wish family members that don't have a lot of money would save their money and not get anything rather than waste it on tacky shit that usually gets thrown away and ultimately end up being a waste of their money. A card is good enough for me.
  3. I have no experience of riding in hot temps yet so can't give any info on my suit. The different models give different air flow. The Cosmic that the guys wore in the write up looks good for air flow. I think it might be a case of finding your nearest stockist and trying a few on. I know there's a place in York but don't know if there is a nearer one to you.
  4. A quick Google and it looks like it's primarily designed for warmer weather, so if it's keeping you warm and dry now, you're going to love it even more come the summer [emoji106][emoji41]
  5. Is the Air jacket classed as a 'summer' jacket tango?
  6. Back in August I purchased a Rukka Armaxion suit ready for my first ever Euro trip. I ummed and ahhed for a LONG time, bored the socks off one of our members and read as many reviews as I could on Rukka. As it happened we avoided any rain that week lol, but I know I've invested in quality gear for the future. My mate has just sent me this link http://earth-roamers.blogspot.co.uk/201 ... d.html?m=1 Great write up.
  7. lol We missed the rain being early and all [emoji11]
  8. Give the school that you are going to be using a quick call. They are the best people to be giving you information you're looking for. As someone has already said, they may even have boots, jackets etc that you can borrow for the CBT and beyond.
  9. I think that was a typo Double your stopping distance on wet roads.
  10. There's always that big campsite in Calais you could use for free [emoji6]
  11. It's called self preservation You are doing the correct thing. You have reduced grip when the road is wet/damp and your tyres are cold. The key is to be smooth with the throttle.
  12. You can also be 2 hours early and they'll try and fit you on an earlier train than the one you've booked
  13. Until next winter.........[emoji6]
  14. I watched that on telly. Bit of duct tape and it'll be reet
  15. Look up the CSS - California Superbike School
  16. If that doesn't work I would say you choke is stuck open.
  17. There should be an idle screw on the right hand side (as you sit on it) when the bike is at normal running temp turn screw anti-clockwise and bring the revs down to 1200-1300 rpm
  18. Probably trying to drum up business for his company. He sells the cams that were in his vehicle.
  19. What's the difference between a fanny and an oven? An oven doesn't fart when you take the meat out.
  20. I could be an type of road. You will practice as though you are riding on your own and need to get from A to B as in a real life situation.
  21. Another reason the accident rate our younger riders/CBT holders has gone up dramatically. The way the system is now, people are just staying on a CBT and renewing every 2 years rather than go on to take a test, in which case you will receive the training required.
  22. You can blame the EU for that. A lot of new test centres had to be built to incorporate the Mod 1 testing area. The Government couldn't afford to build these in every town/city that already had test centres so they shut a lot down and built a centre that covers an area. This cost was passed on to the public as the test fees went up. Also waiting times for all tests, cars and bikes went up as they now had to accommodate more towns/city's There are 3 Mod 1 test centres to choose from if you live in Grimsby. Lincoln, Scunthorpe or Hull. If you don't know the area you're screwed, so would need a few lessons around which ever place you chose adding cost to the whole thing. I'm sure you can times this by a lot more places/areas like this. The stupid thing is, you can take your Mod 2 in Grimsby as they have a test centre. It's a rented building on an industrial site!
  23. I misread the title and thought you are looking only for Ians who lived in Oxford
