Did you notice how long the peds had been waiting for? Did you see them approach the crossing? This would have given you an indication on the likelihood of them going to red. If the chances are high then I would have been rolling off the throttle slightly on the approach in anticipation. You would have been prepared for the sudden stopping of the car in front. You did well to keep control especially with a pillion. Sounds like a step backwards just like Star Wars. With special effects having moved forward from the last Star Trek seasons of Picard I think they should have moved forward with more imagination of what tech, worlds, creatures etc could have been around in the future after Picard. Have word with your instructor about gear selection round town ie 30 mph. I personally would be in 3rd or 4th at those speeds on 600. Bikes are not like cars and they love to be revved. 6th gear at 30 and the bike will be labouring. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rukka do a Goretex version of this. A friend has a pair. There is like a flap inside the glove and you can choose whether to have a thin palm and protect you outer hand or vice verse. I don't know the name of them, but a Google would fetch up results I'm sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are 2 types of T junction. 'Open' or 'Closed' A 'Closed' junction means you can't see enough of the new road on your approach to determine the traffic situation. Always come to a stop at these junctions. An 'Open' junction is the opposite. You will have a good view on the approach and will be able to determine if you have to give way, or not before you enter the new road. The amount of view you have and sharpness of turn will determine your approach speed and this will determine your gear selection. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The problem with that Liam, is that won't give you a true indication of how much pressure you need going into a bend as it all depends on your speed. The faster you are travelling the more pressure you need to force the front wheel off its axis.the faster you are going the more the front wheel wants to stay upright. It will take a lot more pressure to tip the bike in at 70mph than at 20mph. Your brain will automatically work all this out for you. It just takes practice and some retraining of your brain to be able to consciously counter steer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I gave up in 2005 after smoking for 18 years. I was on 20-30 a day and had not been enjoying it for some time. I woke up one morning and thought to myself, I've had enough. Went cold turkey and looking back I couldn't believe how easy I found it. I really thought I would struggle. I did some research of nicotine withdrawal symptoms are to my surprise there were more than a few! Quite a lot actually. I suffered from two for a couple of weeks - irritability and a bit of insomnia. I guess going cold turkey can work, but I think that it was the right time for me to quit.
