1. probably the latter, lack of experience and a definite lack of maintenance by the owners
2. Says you! Anyone who has a bike festooned with handbags ........ Xena! S-Westerly is making fun of your panniers
3. Nothing wrong with a mobile home if that's your thing
4. I loved riding while lockdown was still in place . I was out and about all over Worcestershire yesterday and I've never seen such volumes of traffic . It makes me wonder where they are all going . There are no events taking place so they can't all be visiting relatives or shopping . What do ordinary people actually do ? I'm obviously a bit out of touch . When i went to Ladybower yesterday there were hoards of people and cars parked any which way possible and no social distancing
5. They still exist and as long as you have AM entitlement you can legally ride any 50cc moped with a max speed of 45kmh/28mph, a moped nowadays covers a long list of bikes from the simple pedal type to geared 50cc motorbikes
6. Been cleaning and polishing Xena ready for bike night tonight
7. I don't think you have any other option dynax! After yesterdays ride knowing that Xena is capable of motorway speeds and able to maintain them, and with her size she does have road presence i would have no issues taking her on a motorway if i had to
8. Seems most people are in too much of a hurry which isn't something new been going on for decades , i much prefer a more sedate and leisurely ride, although i won't lie i did enjoy my little burst of high speed yesterday but that was more of an experiment to see if i could and what effect it had on the bike regarding handling etc, but knowing that it is more than capable of keeping up with the flow of traffic, has convinced me even more that is all i personally need, it would be a different story if i was touring with heavy luggage or carrying a pillion, but as neither of these is likely to happen it suits me perfectly
9. What Richzx6r said, but some chokes haven't got a cable attached to them and you have to physically move them, the choke literally restricts the air flow and if it isn't working properly ie able to fully open the engine can't breathe properly and will cut out, make sure the choke is working as should then look at other parts of the carb, but taking it off and giving it a clean and service is not a bad thing to do anyway, and once done it can be ruled out and look at other areas if it still runs badly

Mounting bracket

I used them to mount my screen, really cheap on evilbay
11. Just got back from a little bimble into the Hope Valley and Ladybower reservoir, new earphones worked well and could hear the voice directions very clearly, rode down some great twisty roads some of which were heavily treelined, didn't stay long as i was time restricted but got in some photos, coming back i was on a stretch of the A630 NSL dual carriageway and i almost topped 80mph and was cruising nicely at 75mph for a good couple of miles and still had some throttle left, not bad for 12HP it will take me some time to sort through the video footage from the dashcam so will add that in due course but for now some photos of some Doncasteresque Individualism
12. When all said and done does horsepower actually matter, people ride what they like to ride, how many people actually think about HP as the clincher when buying a bike, if HP was the main factor everyone would be riding the same machine
13. Take the carburretor off and see if the choke operates as it should, the choke should be off under normal riding and only really needs to be used to aid cold starting, once the engine has been running for a minute or so take the choke off, might help to post a video of how it runs now to help with a diagnosis

Hi from Wakefield

Hello and welcome
15. I'm quite happy with my 12HP i can hit 70 might not be able to stay there for long but who cares i don't
16. A lot depends on what you want to do, will you be commuting to and from work or is it just for weekend fun, do your CBT first and see if you take to it, you might not even like it, but if you do you will have a better idea of which way you want to progress, either continue with a 125 for a while or if you feel confident enough go straight to doing your DAS, until you get on and ride you won't know which route to take just yet, good luck

Hello and welcome
18. No pics or video, but had a cracking ride to Lincoln this afternoon and saw the inlaws and good old catch up, left a bit later than planned as was chucking it down, managed to get most of the way home though before being caught a short downpour, just spent the last ten minutes drying down Xena before putting the cover on, only used one bar of fuel there and back

Backache

Mostly yes, the massages are very rigorous, they don't use oils or crap like that but they do pull and stretch every part of your body and they do work those muscles, and you are clothed either wearing your own clothes or the ones provided by them, you are better to wear the ones provided as they are light and loose fitting, the last time i had one must have been 20 years ago when i was on the building sites and i used to get one every week but i needed it after a 60+ hour week

Backache

Thai massage is good for backache, you'll soon forget about it
21. Going to Lincoln tomorrow, it was our great nephews 5th birthday last week so going to take down some presents for him, depending on the weather i will either be on Xena or in the car
22. New chain and new brake cables fitted I bought these universal kits that have 1 brake cable and 1 throttle cable and fittings, i had to get 2 but at £6 each saves a load of hassle looking for specific ones
23. Picked up a new chain for Florence earlier which is now fitted as well as new brake cables, the only things left to buy are some pedals and a fuel tap, and the seat which i will probably have to do myself, will post some pics in the other thread later
24. i left in 1985 and we just piled into the pub and got rat arsed
