1. Some parts arrived today, and a surprise deposit in the bank for my birthday so went and used it to buy a torque wrench, and here we have the first start and running of Florence

Hi

Hello and welcome, i was considering a Hunter at one point but somehow ended up with a pedal and pop instead
3. Took the front wheel off and stripped it ready for a serious bit of cleaning, i just hope it will polish up otherwise i will have to get a new rim, the spokes look okay and should clean up nicely

Hi

Hi Anna, if it's a 4T it can't be derestricted and you would be better trading it in for a 125
6. Nothing to report except that i have found a company that specialises in vintage mopeds and found some nice whitewall tyres, also i have decided not to touch the frame too much just a clean and some rust prevention stuff, as i think with the wheels cleaned up these tyres would look well, also have read that using boiled linseed oil is a good coating to preserve the patina, will be taking the front wheel of today and see how we go on cleaning and polishing it

Hi

Hello and welcome, unless you are 16 you would be better on a 125cc
9. We also have lights, geez i am fooked, managed to hand crank the pedals and generated some leccy to briefly make the bulb glow dimly, but it works that is the main thing i really hope getting it registered will be plain sailing as it won't be too long before it will be useable, wheels and brakes next me thinks while waiting for engine parts
10. Just ordered a couple of sparkplugs and they also fit the Puch maxi which makes sense as they are both similar spec engines
11. Are you volunteering as camera man
12. Both types are 12.7 mm long and 14mm thread, just looking on ebay now so will get a couple ordered
13. Thanks Tiggie that was my thought too but can't find anything other than a b5hs no other numbers come up like 7 or 8 or 9 as i believe these are for a heat range on the plug maybe a 9 might be a suitable option ?
14. We have spark and working throttle the spark plug that was in is shagged but is different from the recommended one, the one that was in is a NGK b7HS10 but the recommeneded one from a search is a b5hs---, can't be sure the one that was in actually ran with it, so would it be best to get the b5hs or should i just get the b7hs10, cheers
15. Moved Florence to the shed here's a few more pics as she is before the restoration begins
16. Been in contact with DVLA, no records of previous registration held so will be going to register as older vehicle new registration
17. Been thinking about the colour scheme, and regarding the current patina the general consensus seems to be to leave as is without any coatings, this would be simpler but also more care would be needed with cleaning and applying some form of wax or polish quite regularly, but i am quite drawn to giving it a full on paint job and maybe going with a matt green for the main frame and tank etc, then doing the rest in satin black like the wheels and hubs, handlebars and engine casings, the other bits like engine block and exhaust in a uht matt black finish
18. Yeah there isn't much room in there, i will be moving to the shed this morning, i only brought it in so it was out of the car
19. Well it looks like it has a vintage patina to it but looks to be surface for the most part Yes it is, there is no rot just surface, thinking of keeping the rat look and just do a clear epoxy sealer and satin clear coat laquer.
20. Here's a few pics that i have just taken, it is in the hallway
21. It's NOT seized before i set off home i took the plug out and squirted a good amount of WD40 down the hole, and as i can't sleep i decided to take some covers off, the flywheel is dry and free running, the wiring inside looks brand new, took the head off and gave the piston a gentle push with a screwdriver handle and with a little jiggle of the cylinder it moved, put head back on and the piston moves freely, there is some compression but as everything is loose i can't do a proper compression test yet, but all the signs are looking promising
22. If you buy a Lexmoto be sure to maintain it properly, if you look after it and don't abuse it, it will be fine, ragging the arse off it and and leaving to the elements will destroy it in no time
