Not long after i got my own car and being a bit of Bond fanatic and gadget freak, i rigged up a washer bottle and line into the exhaust pipe, the bottle was filled with a light oil and a switch on the dash, and i had my own version of a smoke screen -

Okay touch that wire with a probe and at the same time touch the positive side of the battery and press the switch, if the meter buzzes then you have continuity if not there is a break in the circuit somewhere

Might be easier to trace the wires from the switch, one should come from a fuse near the battery and the other will go to the starter relay

You said the side stand switch is okay, did you try it with the stand up, some bikes won't start with the stand down

set the meter to the buzzer, place the electrodes on the switch contacts one on each and press the switch, if you have continuity the buzzer should sound,

Has it got a side stand switch, is that working or been damaged, have you checked for continuity on the start switch itself, have you checked the kill switch

Have you tried bump starting it ?, that's what i would do, might just need to give it a bit to get it started initially

There's a website that has a collection of old dos games that you can download and play, some need an emulator like the amiga ones, but most will play and are free too
