  1. Good morning yesterday did not quite go to plan, as I set off Xena was too top heavy and I nearly dropped her, so took everything off and started again. This time only packed one rod and a small amount of gear and ditched my change of clothes, finally got going and all was well, got to the other side of Gainsborough and I was in a downpour and got drenched from the bottom down, luckily I put my textile jacket on instead of my leather one. Made it to Cleethorpes but with the tide right out and another 8 hours or so till the next high tide, I rode up and down the prom a couple of times where I could anyway , most of the prom was closed off for roadworks. Rode up to the leisure centre and had a scout around the beach there, just a note it is still free parking for motorcycles and all along the prom if you are parked in a bay. Eventually dried out a bit then decided to head back home, not long after leaving I was into more bad weather this time hailstones and I was getting battered, most of the journey home I was in and out of rain showers, but I still enjoyed the ride. I will need to find a proper solution to be able to travel light but with everything I need for future trips
  2. Xena is all loaded up, today is the day for Cleethorpes or bust I will be at the very end of the North Prom if anyone is in the area and wants to say hello, see you all later
  3. Good morning the sun is shining although there was some frost, thinking today might be the day
  4. I'm trying so I have a pannier free just in case
  5. Nothing happened again today, so the weekend has to have something to offer. Cleethorpes or Bust I have been trying out various combinations for taking my fishing gear on the bike, basically trying to travel as light as possible I think I might have got it now but still a lot to take. main problem is a change of clothing, don't really want to be fishing in my biking gear, and I definitely don't want to compromise on riding without it
  6. Good morning after yesterday's non event I might have a ride out today and if nothing else I still need to go shopping
  7. Good morning, been up Dawn's crack sorting thing's out, it's cold and wet outside and I don't know if i can be bothered going today got a few hours to make up my mind, on the plus side there probably won't be many people there, will flip a coin and do best out of three
  8. Funnily enough I have some chicken and spinach left over from today's dinner that I will have when I get back home from my fishing expedition tomorrow
  9. If you want to try it then do it, don't let other people put you off, make up your own mind. You can reduce the risks considerably by learning properly

    Welcome StephB

    Hello and welcome
  11. The one I tried was a 600 Fazer, and I really couldn't gel with it.
  12. The main put off was the riding position, it was really uncomfortable, even the CG's riding position is uncomfortable to a degree which is why I don't use it so much.
  13. The main issue is the power, the CG is only 10 horses, as you know there isn't much distance from the corner to the avoidance cones, so a you come out of the corner you have to really give it some to get up to speed, more powerful bike not a problem you have the power there to do it, smaller bike literally slightly less than a quarter of the power. Which was the main reason a went on Xena just a couple of extra horses, but also heavier so probably no that much in it regarding doing the cones. I will see how things pan out for me financially over the coming months and may have to consider doing it on a school bike and do the full A, that way at least I know I will hit the speed required
  14. With me it stems from my free time when I was looking after Andrea, plus I don't have breakfast so when I got there I was pretty peckish Plus if I don't have a good night I can usually get my head down for a couple of hours beforehand, anyway it's done now I always accepted that I would probably fail so no great loss but an invaluable lesson as to where my weaknesses are I did it on Xena, I did think about taking the CG which I probably should have done, but I spend more time on Xena and feel more comfortable on her than the CG.
  15. Don't be sorry it is what it is, no rush plenty of time to get it done
  16. I will, though there's no pressure got 18 months to get it done
  17. I should have changed the time really, originally I had it for 2.30pm then it got cancelled and they sent out a new date and at 8.30 in the morning, so I was up 5.45am. Next time I will make sure it's an afternoon slot
  18. roll on for the second attempt, did okay but I knew it would be a fail today, got 2 majors foot down on the fig 8 and not quite fast enough on the avoidance exercise 48 kph. No problem though I know what to expect now and which areas I need to work on, anyway that's done now so let's talk fishing
  19. @Ian Frog Hope you have a good one
  20. You know what it never even crossed my mind about a body conditioner, I mean I use a hair and fabric conditioner, I will have to have a look and see if Sainsbury's do one other supermarkets are available, can you recommend any particular brand, mind you I could always ask one of the girls on the shop floor which one would be best for a tantric massage, cheers mate
  21. Or the WAGS of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  22. Do you offer a happy ending with your massages like the Thai's do
  23. May as well chuck this out here as I can't be arsed making a new post for it. Anyone fancy joining me in a ride out to Cleethorpes on Wednesday. I am going there for some fishing so will be staying a good few hours, but anyone who wants to come just for the ride is more than welcome, not sure which route yet, either A18 or going through Gainsborough and A46, I will be setting off between 9 and 10 in the morning, so just let me know
