  1. In 2017 the commonwealth fund again described the NHS as the best performing healthcare system when rated against ten other 1st world healthcare systems. This included in efficiency/cost effectiveness. Our spending as a part of GDP is not all that high.
The non clinical people earning over 100k that you describe are a part of a board whom employ thousands and thousand of people, are responsible for managing the budgets in the millions/tens of millions and more.
boards of equally large and responsible private companies have incredible remuneration including pension products. When we last disagreed about this I did not point out that people often compare the pension and other benefits profiles of those earning less than 100k in the private sector. The disparity is not so clear in those above 100k.

There are absolutely things the NHS could do better and there are definitely times it does not succeed. It actively treats over a million people per day.
we could cut out the senior management but then I can assure you the efficacy would drop.
It would be wonderful to remove the faux marketisation in the health service. Any willing provider and competition between NHS providers has not improved quality in my opinion and despite being bloody good the nhs has lost its shine because of those factors.

Honestly believe this will happen but by private individuals like Musk and Branson. Governments are too risk averse and bogged down in bureaucratic red tape.

And/or not prioritising the billions it costs. That is short sighted because the economy benefits from these big projects. But then we have not maintained our infrastructure over the past fifteen years let alone made it ready for 15 years time so what do we expect.

Fingers crossed all goes well. We’ve just successfully flogged a house - currently drinking something fizzy to celebrate.

Which part of Brum (I assume it’s Brum)? I used to live near Kingstanding*, though we called it Great Barr ‘cos that sounded better, before moving to near Shirley** (it was actually Solihull but I did want to give the impression of being posh 😂).

    * Templeton Rd

    ** Kingslea Rd

    Maypole just along from Shirley:-)

right by the big Sainsbury’s on the roundabout on the 435

I am so chuffing excited now! Spoke to conveyancer, no reason we won’t complete on Monday :-) no chain involved. Started packing, but embarrassed that I have five boxes of dvds :-)

So .. PHE .. and the BBC run “we’re all going to die” reports every night on the news ... 12 months ago it was a warning to us all ... 12 months later its a disgrace ....

“Tonight in a hospital in London people are dying of Covid” .... totally ignoring the much higher number of people that are dying of other things...

If your partner died of cancer, heart disease, strokes .... RTA ... the MSM don’t care ... sod cancer deaths ... a man that was tested positive for covid 28 days ago has been hit by a bus and died ... sod the rest of you ...

When did you see the amazing report, based on PHE / ONS figures, that in the last 12 months 680,002 people have died .. But only 100,000 with or of C-19 ...

And breath ... I’m a cancer survivor with mild ( very) heart disease ... we don’t matter any more ......

Sorry ... if someone can hold the reins i’ll get off my high horse .........

Just because the BBC are not publishing does not mean that those stats are not done and not thought about. Is your axe blunt again already.
