    Fork clunk

I tend to be with @Bender on this (Strewth that`s probably a first lol). If you can feel the play or hear a clonk or knock it is probably too much, the bars should move freely with the wheel elevated but forward to rear movement shouldn`t be "noticeable" (searching for better term please forgive). Cheers Ian
  2. I have bought some new patio furniture! What do you think ? Cheers Ian
  3. That sounds a good idea roving the venue about and spreading the spending hopefully ensuring a continuing welcome at more places. Cheers Ian
  4. sounds like a great event. If it comes up again can you let us know perhaps with a little more planning time lol. Cheers Ian
  5. If that kind of thing appeals also look at the Kawasaki (Vulcan I think) very low slung and looks an easy thing to manouver. Cheers Ian
  6. This one at the weekend probably! Cheers Ian
  7. Rats I will be passing that way in the morning lol. Cheers Ian
  8. Thanks for the heads up! Cheers Ian
  9. Lol I should be so lucky but I am looking forward to the stretch between Oxford and Swindon. The icing on the cake is that after the meeting I can nip in to Dorchester and see my Dad and stay overnight and pootle back on Friday. Cheers Ian
  10. I have bought the Busa in to work today and will be getting it MOT'd in a bit. Then I can get to use it to go to a business meeting in Bath tomorrow approx 250 miles away! Should be fun Cheers Ian
  11. Can`t fault that idea actually. Cheers Ian
  12. Also a fair point. Shall we start again lol. With the engine in neutral use the nut on the end of the crank with the plug out, with it in gear if the back wheel is off the ground rotate the gearbox output shaft (Front sprocket) If the op cant get covers off for any reason with the bike in gear and the plug out he could try to rotate the back wheel. Cheers Ian
  13. Fair point! Hope he has a paddock stand (no centre stand on them) Cheers Ian
  14. Stoopid question but if you don`t remove the chain wouldn`t it roll forwards and probably fall on him? Remove rotor cover and use socket on the bolt on the end of the crank may be easier. Forgive me if I have missed something. Cheers Ian
  15. Yes just seen it. Hopefully @Bender will get it sorted as that looks very nice. Cheers Ian
  16. Your routing is fine and the early coolers were usually done this way (from memory lol) Please consider the increase in capacity and see if you can find out the kind of pressures this engine is expected to make as to maintain good flow it might be necessary to think about diameter of flow pipe and consequently a larger gravity fed return pipe will hopefully work quite well. Cheers Ian
  17. The short answer is yes it is possible to fit an oil cooler. But unless you are wrapping the resulting thing in bodywork that severely restricts airflow the original manufacturer didn`t feel it needed one so why go to the expense/hassle of fitting a non performance enhancing mod that will still cost you time and money? Sorry to sound negative but I spend a lot of time and effort removing stuff and lightening wherever possible in the search for lightness and performance gains. Cheers Ian
  18. If that`s your kitchen what is the garage like? Bet your purple dinosaur is under there somewhere lol. Cheers Ian
  19. Your mate sounds like the kind of real world user whose opinion might actually be worth listening to. I have been hearing so much from so called experts and people who frankly are just saying what they think we should hear. I suppose that soon the opinions of people who have done proper mileage will start to come through rather like they are starting to in the car world. Cheers Ian
  20. Gov website say`s if it can`t be classed as a EAPC (elec assist pedal cycle) then it will be classed as a motorcycle and as such tax, insurance and licence are all applicable. Like you I wonder about whether the class will need to be refined. I am terribly out of touch with the modern catorgories and tests having passed my test so long ago (£7.50 lol). Cheers Ian
  21. Cool Chat soon ! Cheers Ian
  22. Have a look at JD`s NN17 3JJ ? Let me know what you think (There is a pub within walking distance if you want to persuade someone else to do the driving lol. Cheers Ian
  23. What sort of time are you up and whereabouts? We have no solid plans at this time. Cheers Ian
