  1. I sympathise ! Changed car last month and new house sale agreed last week. I am saddened to see everything I need to buy or arrange seems to magically rise in price just as I start looking at it. Cheers Ian
  2. As an aside I have been wearing glasses since childhood and riding for 43 years and I believe the padding grooves in HJC lids are the best thing I have come across. I tend to wear metal arms with a bit of flex in them anyway and don`t seem to have too many problems. Cheers Ian
  3. Happy Birthday wherever you are trundling round this fair isle. Cheers Ian
  4. That`s a very kind offer and I would like to keep in touch about it ! Since I posted that enquiry I have got a number of quotes and then we went and found a new house so things might change a bit. For the next couple of weeks everything can stay as it is then we have a week away for which we plan to use the Harley and after that hopefully we will have an idea of when we are moving. The new place has a lovely workshop at the bottom of the garden and my other half seems to think I will be sorting out the house Cheers Ian
  5. I really can`t fault the lexins and my bettr half still uses one which pairs to my Sena easily and as an intercom works well. Obviously for the other functions I can`t comment but the price advantage is well worth a go. Let us know how you get on. Cheers Ian
  6. Hee Hee I hope the weather picks up too but not sure if you should refer to the area like that, it sounds a bit Hobbitish. We are looking forward to being back there very much as things are slowly returning to normalish. Cheers Ian
  7. Hope you both had a good day. @Turbogirlie we are down your way on June 6th for 3 days if you fancied meeting for a drink and a chat we will be staying in Luggbridge not too far from Sutton St Nic or the town centre. As I have said before it`s a part of the world I love and my parents used to live in Marden so I try to visit when I can. Cheers Ian
  8. I take it the reg number of the bike he hit is either known by your son or on the cctv from the service station? Hopefully easy to identify his first assailant and therefore his travelling companions. Cheers Ian
  9. Providing you have made an appointment it is legal to ride to your "nearest" MOT station and then once you have a pass certificate you can tax the vehicle and away you go. This what I will have to do with the Busa and the ZRX and as we are moving it is why I recently asked about bike couriers as with 2 bikes involved it starts to make economic sense. Cheers Ian
  10. I had a similar problem on 2 bikes and when I enquired I was told that due to Covid a lot of things are a bit up in the air at the moment. I put them both on SORN until I can arrange MOT etc. Hope that you get it sorted. Cheers Ian
  11. Happy anniversary @oldgrump Cheers Ian
  12. Happy Birthday @gymwitch have agreat day. Cheers Ian
  13. Just a thought. If you are based in Portsmouth like it says on your profile I wouldn`t mind betting it would be cheaper to use someone local rather than pay London prices. If you can go out west I know of Lightning training near Slough and also Oxford where a mate works. Cheers Ian
  14. Thanks for that ! Cheers Ian
  15. Sounds like a very good strategy ! May I ask who you get the contract through? Cheers Ian
  16. To be fair maybe it`s time for a hero/optimist of the day thread then ! Man on Tenere only a nob if he believed it was going to be good weather, after all this is the U.K Cheers Ian
  17. I see from the title it is a ZRX. As an owner of one of these fine bikes I would be interested to hear what caused the strip down and where are you? These things are built like hammers and seldom go wrong so was it something he was just going to do up? Also what is the mileage and is it an R or an S. Cheers Ian
  18. What annoys me most about the photograph problems is that they take very good pics of the details and then make the bikes look like Snow White`s mates have crashed the things. Cheers Ian
  19. That looks like a lot of fun ! Cheers Ian
  20. Not the prettiest little thing I ever saw but at least it`s a 4. Cheers Ian
  21. Only Saturday 23rd I could find this year is in October so plenty of time to get something arranged with @dynax Bit late for a summer hol? Cheers Ian
  22. Hi @gymwitch it might be worth your while to investigate an Abba stand as if and when you change bike or want to use a stand on your hubby`s bike you just need adaptors. Also I find them considerably easier than a paddock stand. Cheers Ian
  23. Still a little way to go but at least he is moving the right way. Cheers Ian
  24. Frost and drunken new years revellers are a great addition. The ambulance guys last time were gutted they couldn`t stay for a drink lol. I have since developed an aversion to decking. I was the only first aider there and slightly twatted, the casualty had a broken tib and possibly fib and was wingeing like a little girl and flipping about like a drunk mackerel but we got there in the end lol. Cheers Ian
  25. Until you have watched people slip on wet decking you haven`t lived lol. Not for me but have fun. Cheers Ian
