Yeah Lets get the age gags out of the way now ! I am happy to say that the Ind Coope was shit so we drank Friary Meuex which wasn't much better lol. That pub was great fun with some serious 1%ers and some great musos like Kirsty Mcall and Algy Ward counted amongst regulars. Bunch of looneys but greatly missed. Cheers Ian

I have been having a good chat in private with #Richzx6r and I thought I would share a pic he kindly found for me of my old local back in about 82 lol. My bike is the blue and silver Ducati 900 2nd from right hand end. I am proud to say I still own and can still wear the jacket I had on that day. Nice to see a pub with so many varied bikes and no car park. Lots of stories from that place I assure you ! Cheers Ian

Who is doing the pedalling ? Cheers Ian

Yep just off the A1 it was a bonkers large red headed Smash alien and I laughed my arse off and nearly ran straight into the approaching roundabout ! Cheers Ian

#Rich is the "Smash" factory near Scotch corner still there and does it still have the giant alien on the roof? Nearly fell off when I saw that for the first time! Cheers Ian

Thank you very much. There were some amusing incidents during that trip believe me. Getting money sent by my Dad to allow us to continue the stay was fun he was a fruit importer at Covent Garden and we went to a greengrocers in town and collected some money in a brown paper bag lol how suss would that have looked? Learning that Scottish pubs opened at 10.00a.m and Belhaven 80 shilling makes an interesting late breakfast. Additionally every word is true and I worry about what I have forgotten over the years. Cheers Ian

If that was aimed at mine thank you very much ! I am no writer and struggled like mad to put that together lol. I should try harder as I have had some great scrapes lol. Cheers Ian

Back in probably 1980 I took a mate from Surrey to St Andrews for the new year celebrations on a Z650. Journey up was very cold and we planned lunch in Carlisle lol, Evening spent in Leeds Uni bar ended up with a punch up with Uni rugby squad. Stayed in some guys terraced house and slept on the floor in a room with a Bonneville don't remember much else. Woke or regained consciousness in the morning and did 50 miles the wrong way down the motorway and when I realised I was so hungover I went down one off ramp round 1 junction on the roundabout and straight back up the other side and continued in the wrong direction lol. Got to St Andrews and got snowed in so stayed a week rather than the long weekend. The stay included a party in a village hall out in the sticks one evening and when we arrived the guys on the door said it was fancy dress and themed punks and poseurs so with no introduction I rode the bike up the steps across the dance floor and parked in front of the disco. Great evening but medical students had laced the punch with acid so rode back at about 5 mph counting butterflys in the snow. Eventual journey back involved a different route which included the highlight of having the bike nicked while we were in the pub in Carlisle and the old bill finding it and allowing me to park it in their yard (spent the night praying they wouldn't look under the seat for our herbal tobacco lol. Final day snowing hard and when we got to Shap slow progress and could hear the hiss of snow turning to steam on the downpipes as we ploughed our own furrow when we came down the southern side of the mountain at the bottom was a police car who stopped us and asked how we had done it as the road had been closed for about 4 hours (turns out the signs had been blown over and buried in snow and the cop who was supposed to be there wasn't. Final straw got pulled over where M6 joins M1 and accused by cop of being an Austin Allegro because the plate was so dirty but at least he let us sit in the back of the patrol car and warm up a bit. Absolutely stupid and in places a dangerous trip but it still makes me smile and I am glad I did it. Cheers Ian

Can you post a picture so we can try and identify it! Cheers Ian

What is even less known about T E Lawrence is the fact that he was Welsh! Oh Come on we can all cope with the knowledge he was a deeply troubled homosexual dealing with his personal issues whilst being a genuine inspirational person and a hero . But please don't tell people he was Welsh! Cheers Ian

Depends on your right wrist ! The bike is fine for long distance as long as you either fit a flip up screen if you are over 6ft like me or you stay below 100kmh (c0ugh) as a cruising speed. I have done approx. 400 miles in one day Bedford to Dorchester and back in the day with no problem and not slow either lol. I like the riding position and the reassurance of a planted large bike. Done the same 400 odd mile round trip on the Busa and my knees were a little cramped but my neck was better. You pays your money and takes your choice. Got to say for journeys under 100 miles and playing the hooligan I think the Rex is ideal lol !! Cheers Ian Its just the missus has said she doesn't mind the look of the zrx1200, I take it for a short arse (5'10) wont be cramped on the bike, also it looks like you have had your seat scooped out? I am using an aftermarket seat but the original is fine as well. I have had mine 16 years from new and I love it solo or 2 up. It seems to get more positive reactions than some of the modern retros and seems to be going up in value so whats not to like? Oh and a decent owners network who do take the trouble to meet ! Great fun at Santa Pod as well the sportsbike blokes don't like us lol. Cheers Ian Please be aware I may be a little biased !

Well if that's life from now on all I can say is bring on the cider and come on eileen That's disgusting but if you and Eileen are up for it why not ! I think Rich and I will be trying to break into a pub lol. Cheers Ian

There is only one correct choice ! The bike/ bikes you have now plus one. In my case the ZRX the Busa and I keep looking at supamotos ! Cheers Ian How comfortable is the zrx for longish distance riding? Depends on your right wrist ! What ? John Lennon or the Maxi? I have some bad news for you! Pubs ? Bloody better happen again ! If not we could all turn into #Rennie drinking cider at home and voluntarily doing online karaoke with relatives ! Cheers Ian

LMFAO you are obviously single or have a dishwasher of your own in the garage ! Half the youngsters on here will be homeless by the time they have done the necessary research ! Mind you it could be funny to watch. Cheers Ian I have a wonderful wife who just leaves me to it, I had only been with her a month when I thought hmm dishwasher ohh stripped v6 engine I had never had one before, you need to coat things with oil quick though as surface rust appears very quick. It works like this, I can pretty much do what I want if I break it I replace it. Seems like a fair system of local government ! Well done you. Cheers Ian

nah mate never heard of a pub, what's it for? If you need to ask you wouldn't understand the answer ! Just imagine a utopian place where men could gather and moan about their jobs and wives and receive a sympathetic response and at the same time enjoy beer without looking over your shoulder when requesting a refill (which could on occasion be bought to you by a smiling woman). f**k it I am obviously dreaming again ! Cheers Ian

Child's play, back when she was not my X wife. My daughter's mum was surprised when I offered to push the pram to get baby to sleep... When she came to visit me working on the boat. Till she realised I was using pram wheels to dee rust some chain by repeatedly pushing her over it... It was surprisingly efficient. That's brilliant ! We are just devious fookers lol. Cheers Ian

Renthall and others are reputable manufacturers and have been used for years by loads of us. Buy from a reputable supplier like M&P, Demon Tweeks, Busters etc. cheers Ian

Excellent bit of trivia ! I wonder if it will ever come up in a pub quiz? (Remember pubs? ) Thank you for posting this. Cheers Ian

Hang on you learnt it at work and still went on to fook up at home ! You are either very brave or stoopid lol. I am lucky I was able to liberate a reportedly malfunctioning dishwasher from the show house at work to get out of the doghouse so how did you survive? Cheers Ian
-
At least you learnt that with stuff for her ! The reaction when it`s Z900 crank cases wasn't as sympathetic a response trust me ! Cheers Ian
