  1. yea, get a Y-anchor http://www.saferrider.org/wpcms/wp-content/uploads/Yanchor-bike.png There is no chance they will get the anchor out, they would have to cut the chain or remove the wheel.
  2. I dunno.... I just bought one that cost £110... Regretted it as soon as it arrived, before I even looked at it haha
  3. You might think that, but not all manufacturers use the same sizing. A large in one brand will be a medium in another. Go to a shop and try before you buy. With your budget they won't be any more expensive in most shoops. I'll tell you what, I went into dammerals once to get gloves. On one shelf there were some L's which were too small, the next shelf the XS were too big! Doesn't even make sense
  4. shark have just released a few colourful helmets I believe You can also get them in reflective material, or even glow in the dark paint
  5. welcome to the forum. I already know the top speed of my bike, its been tried and tested and more than 100mph less than yours! I would love to go one day. How much is it?
  6. They was leathers I'm not saying where it was autobahn IOM
  7. don't worry. The first time I ever tried them, they fell out after a minute, and during that minute they didnt block out any noise. I thought they were broken, turns out it was just me that was broken haha
  8. if you have the money, get it now but haggle on it. If you don't have the money, then don't. Simple as. As for prices going up, Ive had my eye on ebay for months and the bike I want doesnt seem to be going up in price at all. Also, keep an eye on insurance prices. They fluctuate for no apparent reason. I have seen it go up by £100 over night on comparison sites. A bit like house prices really...
  9. I still dont get this. Why would there be water, or even oil in the air breather?

    HELP

well, lets start with the simples. what is actually wrong with them? Have you checked the battery? Battery connections? fuses?
  11. mmm, sounds like the air intake. Is it plastic or metal?
  12. Id go with the WD too. I had the same issue with mine due to he fact that the cover for the key hole doesnt spring back, so water got in a lot
  13. when ever I get round to it. I have probably done it 2 times in the last year. Rode about 6k and I have been thinking about doing it again. So about every 3k
  14. I would guess it works the same as road insurance. Cosmetic damage which will cost under £1650 in new parts, you will have to pay for. Any more, they will pay. I would have a look through the T's and C's though, because if its an extension to your current policy and you write the bike off, you may end up giving up your NCB too. As for likely hood of an off, it depends. Are you going in with a school or just blasting it round a track on your own? Bare in mind that the professionals bin it on a weekly basis, and they have been riding all their lives!

    Rubbish rs125

put some 2 stroke oil in it haha
  17. +1. If the only thingthats been changed is the exhaust, it is likely to have something to do with that. I'm not sure what though. If you got the exhaust 2nd hand, it may have crap in it or may have a hole, it may not be installed correctly or could just be the wrong exhaust for the bike. Its probably worth putting the LV back on to see if it starts, then go from there otherwise you could be looking over a lot of things. Its always best to rule as much as you can out before messing and spending money
  18. +1 with above. If you have a filter which has a bolt on the end of it, what I would do (as I have the tools. If you dont have the tools, you cant, obviously) is get a slightly smaller snap on socket and a hammer. Hammer the socket on straight so it fits tightly, then attach the socket and go from there. If it isnt too badly rounded off, it may be worth filing the edges down very slightly and putting the correct socket on with a hammer. Either way, you are going to need the correct tools for the job. I too have used mole grips for bolts and I know from experience, it doesnt end well! If you have a filter which does not have a bolt on the end of it you can hammer a screw driver through the side of it, all the way through and twist it using the screw driver as a handle. This is a last resort though really. I did that with my bandit and it was hell of a difficult due to the headers and engine block being in the way, you have to be very careful not to go through your engine casings or anything else around the area. That is really the cowboys way of doing it, but it should work if nothing else does

    CBR 600 cutting out

    welcome to the forum
  20. Well, I took the plugs out and checked them. The left one was wet with fuel even though I hadn't run it for 24 hours. I also found a load of petrol in the air box, so I think what was happening was whilst the bike was on its side stand, it was sucking through excess fuel from the air box and not igniting. Anyway, air box drained, carbs checked over by the garage (who didnt find anything untoward) and it runs smooth again... Well as smooth as a bandit can. The only worry is, I dont know why I keep flooding it. I emptied it this time last year too... Should it really be filling once a year?
  21. they are doing this all over the country. There is one down here too but doesnt seem too appealing, I'm not sure if I will go or not
  22. will do. I tried it today... exhausts are hot. Then I got distracted...
  23. Its been such nice weather that its been depressing seeing it parked up, so its been locked in the garage, out of site. I did get started on it though, had the petrol tank off... Annoyingly its a full petrol tank, so heavier than it could have been. So far I am working my way from the back to the front but started with the air filter box, its a bit crappy in there to be honest, a lot of dirt for a filter thats under a year old. Anyway, my only concern so far is that there is petrol in the air filter box. I think the set up of the bandit differs from others. I think its an overflow system for something, but I'm not sure what overflows into it. The fuel has been drained via the drain pipe into a small jar, which I then kicked over, so there goes my environmental awareness... anywhos. Anyone know what its for? I've only been in two of the carbs, but they look nice and clean so nothing is blocking them. I will be looking into the other carbs tomorrow. If I can't work it out then its booked into the garage on thus because I wanna get out on it! I may get them to do my valve clearances as it may be making things worse, and even if it isnt it needs doing and I really cannot be bothered to buy all the tools I need lol I'll check plugs etc etc tomorrow
  24. All in good time my friend, all in good time... (October is a good time ) I ran the bike yesterday without backfiring/stalling on idle. All I did was run some carb cleaner through it and adjust the idle speed. I am hoping some crap got into the air filter (I did give it a good wash with the hose round that part, so it may have launched some dirt in there) and I possibly turned the idle knob when washing it (although it is hard to do by accident). I shall go for a ride later and see if its magically fixed it. If not I shall be trying ALL your ideas! Even the "buy a honda" one haha Thanks guys PS its been ridden almost every day, so not been sat
