  1. I tried it and I cant work out if it felt better or not, Id say it takes alot of practice to feel natural. I felt slightly squeezing the brake meant there was a chance id touch throttle when shouldn't.. Then I saw the i2i training guy totally slate trail braking on a facebook video. He usually tells it how it is and makes sense. On my cbt i was bollocked for brake light being on close to a corner that was tighter than i thought lol. They too were against brakes unless upright
  2. No way, just got some gunk to do sprocket area etc, thought the smell was familiar. cost alot more than paraffin would have lol
  3. I used to use muc off chain cleaner but the cost doesn't work out. From what ive seen paraffin is fast. Also, what are you lubing it with? My new chain by D.I.D recommends gear oil.. from what I've used most sprays are a gimmick.
  4. I think the temptation to chase the bus would have been huge.
  5. I think my royal f**k up would deserve it.. need to redeem myself somehow. And ive been called worse.
  6. I installed them on both bikes last year and a quick way to get off is with an air line, then all I did was put a little black tape under so it was snug. Not moved at all. Keep hearing how glue fails. (r&g mostly)
  7. 100% me that mate
  8. Its a great group to be in.. Helped me many many many times.
  9. Fair enough, it does make total sense. Never know peoples sense of humour here ha. To me it looked bad hence my reply
  10. Ah i thought he was being sarcastic lol. looks proper shit to me
  11. its crazy. bits that size would surely end the engine
  12. sarcastic? cant tell lol
  13. Well this bike gets better. Was having a look inside, and it looks like there is some previous damage to the crank shaft. From the second hand pics on ebay it seems common.. However, Im tempted to get the sump off and give it a clean out just in case. May as well seeing as its almost stripped. New pistons and barrels on Sunday, and maybe even a new head at a bargain price. I will have the largest beer once this is sorted.
  14. I thought i might as well seeing as oil was leaking from the gasket so probably had to renew.. I should be going for new pistons as soon as get reply though. id feel better with that done at least
  15. Gave it all a clean up.. waiting for a seller to reply all day so thought id see how it cleans up..
  16. Still needs gasket, but if piston rings are ok then thats a bonus as they are £120
  17. I can replace all the barrels and pistons for £40+gasket. If i clean the piston properly its a gasket. it doesn't sound alot of money, but with no work due to covid and the money Ive spent on tools etc lol i need to try save some. But also know changing parts could save me long term. So my thoughts are up and down at the minute. Also getting a quote from a guy to fix the drilled out hole professionally. as that leaking could set me back just as much. It might seal up if I thread lock the helicoil etc, but its a gamble. what a few weeks this has been.
  18. The barrel is smooth upto the little mark, the piston doesn't go past this mark as that's the broken bit. If i put in a new piston it would pass this a little so it would need smoothing out. the barrels part doesn't seem to be expensive to replace, guess its a risk the replacement is ok and doesn't need £120 worth of rings
  19. @Mississippi Bullfrog its just odd lighting.. with flash you can see detail in it.
  20. shadow i think, il check
  21. Its the forward arrow. So you dont think those little holes would throw off compression etc? its beyond me mate. @fastbob
  22. yeah I got one and it got the stud so stuck in it i couldnt get it out. wouldnt fit other studs. defo gets a grip though,
  23. would you guys run it seeing as the little holes dont touch anything, or get barrels and pistons?
  24. Thanks. Im torn as the barrel is ok but top of piston has slight damage. Id bet it will run fine but if parts are reasonable Il put new piston in and new barrels, well used ones. lol.. all for not blocking the hole when using a shit tool, or checking for object.. talk about a bodge.
  25. hahah boom you posted as I did
