  1. Check battery drop on start, if it drops below 9v apparently it's buggered Took a long while to get my bike going after it had been stood almost a year, needed boosting to get the engine cranking over to spit out the old fuel. Yeah I know I should have drained it first.
  2. Can I post instructions on how to bypass? The info is already out there for the Datatool System 3, its the same process, just wanted to post my experience and clearer pictures. The alarm is no longer supported by data tool.
  3. Bought a centre stand off eBay £7 shock fitted, was very easy. Has transformed the bike. There was oil peeing out of old shock and the bump stop was missing it's other half, completely split down the middle. Thought that would have been automatic fail in MOT. but doubt he could see it through all the crap.
  4. Did you replace the fuel? Empty carbs over winter and put a tea spoon of oil in each cylinder to stop them rusting? I had a Smokey CG 125 the piston rings had worn out. Replaced them and it was fine again. Yes you're meant to rebore but bike was worthless. Had over 40k on clock
  5. First thing I check if no starter... Kill switch... Side stand switch... Clutch switch...datatool alarm fuse
  6. That is a grade A shit site. Won't let me browse without signing in, so disable Java script to stop pop up, you can not browse this site without Java script enabled. Well f**k you then
  7. Just bought a 2nd hand Hagon for £158 all in, have I been robbed? Looks in okay nick. Going by eBay its top of going rate but I know it is made for my bike so happy to pay slight premium. Now how the fudge do I support my bike without using a rear axle stand?
  8. Replace ignition coil http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/honda/cbr_125_rc/12/picture/ignition_coil/ or spray grease as above
  9. You may find it fails the MOT with the LED bulb fitted, just a heads up you might want to swap it over when it's due.
  10. Sorry corrected to remove word 'fork' See it's £125 for rebuild assuming piston is not pitted. Not going to spend fortune on it. Saw one on ebay yesterday...thoughts? Even the piston is sprayed black and described as 'very good condition'
  11. Too good to be true Must be for 2 or something, decided it can wait 2 years for when the brake fluid is replaced again. Thank you very much for looking, will keep it in mind.
  12. Started getting spongy and has now been flagged as slightly weak on the MOT, in fact I think it's completely gone and is just riding on the spring. I don't know if I'm searching wrong but I can't seem to find the seal kits anywhere . I've found a video on you tube and I've done the front suspension on my car (although it was a straight swap of the shock part rather than strip down) and wanted to give this a go
  13. Cheers £80...hum better but not great.
  14. The brakes gave up end of last summer (didn't service them when I said I would) haven't ridden it since, but just tackled them couple of days ago. The seals were £9 and have made a huge improvement. What a bloody mess of a job. The pistons have slight pitting at the ends where they've been exposed to the elements and will probably reduce the life of the seals. A few questions; Are pistons standard across brake manufacturers, are there after market replacements, are they inferior, I saw some for £100 titanium, seems a bit steep. Will probably do in 2 years when the brake fluid needs replacing again.
  15. Does Thatcham approval lapse after so many years, was this ever Thatcham approved? Looking on their website they only have 5 or so alarms that have approval.
  16. Have you got my old bike? Never fixed it, didn't seem to affect MPG so who knows. Just don't ride it in winter. It's definitely one of the sensors though.
  17. I'd chase you down or at least memorise your plate to send you a bill for £15 to replace the cartridge. Of course I know you're joking
  18. He said something about the engine has been retuned...he didn't know whether it had been retuned for economy or power. But it does about 30mpg. Is there anyway to find out? My step dad has a 2 year old Octavia VRS estate in that lightning blue. Really nice.
  19. I think I'm meant to be spending it on the house, not a black hole
  20. I see the numbers....and all I see is 9,000 members that have passed over. Damn never knew this game was so dangerous
  21. Bought a 2003 Golf GTi 1.8T for £775 off ebay. Man it's a pile of shit. Scratched to hell, front bumper has been replaced then scuffed to hell for good measure. I vaxed the inside and it came up like Guinness. There's chewing gum stuck on the back seat. I really should have viewed before bidding. For some strange reason I love driving it though and I've ordered a ton of stuff to make it better. Think I've spent almost £300 and that's before I'm going to have to pay someone to do the cambelt ...whyyyy have I done this???? I can't wait to replace the top mounts, the rear suspension axle bushes. Never done either and I'm excited to have a go. What a waste of money though
  22. There is heavy padding behind it, similar to the knox back protector that is integrated into the back of the vest. The front will be inflated hopefully before you hit the ground.
  23. Had mine 2 years now I think, paid £160 from ebay from a Peugeot dealorship in Poole. Brand new but has Peugeot Scooters stamped on the back and front It's just the vest rather than the entire jacket. Never accidentally inflated it even though I've tugged on it quite hard. Never fallen off so can't say if it works It's very well made would pay full price for a new one, everyone that has seen it has said how impressive it is and what a good idea. AFter threatening to pull the cord
  24. I left honest feedback "Sent me counterfeit tank pad" as he wanted me to send it back without offering to pay for postage. Couldn't be bothered. He offers £3.99 refund of £4.99 purchase price. I accept and offer to change feedback to neutral telling him I'd have preferred the pad without the fake progrip writing on it and to tell his Chinese whole sellers along those lines. He's now taking up the matter with eBay as I'm being completely unreasonable
