  1. Had an exhaust on my car fall off in Scotland during winter once (all that salt they use) except one bolt was holding it on and it was rattling along the road behind me. Stopped at nearest house where thankfully they were English and he lent me his entire tool box so I could remove it. Nice us English folk we are

    Overheated?

Why are you taking it apart if it's under warranty? You're asking for trouble. Follow everyone's advice, get it down the shop.
  3. Till you wash them again sure? But expensive doing it that way though.
  4. We already voted against changing from first past the post. As it stands my vote counts for nothing as everyone is conservative here. I voted for reform. http://www.electoral-reform.org.uk/first-past-the-post" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  5. Does it actually work I'll let you know if I die or not the next time I come off.... Or not PS. Haven't had an off yet
  6. I have a 1998 data tool and only one remote. Paranoid as hell I'll lose it
  7. It sounds like he's rinsed you of your money and has finally decided to fix the actual problem. Don't feel too bad I got taken for a ride by a VW/Audi specialist in Oxford. I was young and naive too. Don't understand why they do it, because I never went back there again and warned everyone I knew not to go there too. (Oh yeah that part is so common to fail we keep them on the shelf, was just a loose hose that I ended up tightening)

    Brake squeal

I put copper grease on the backs of mine then ragged the poo out of them. Fixed mine.
  9. got to be crazy to pay £1,000 for tests I did theory £23 CBT £99 rode for 1 year no lessons Mod 1 £15 Mod 2 £75 full bike licence after 2 years. £212 quids in my old muckers, but I had time on my hand I guess at your age you're in a hurry to get things don't before popping your clogs.
  10. Why don't you change the position of your foot? I put the balls of my feet on the pegs rather than the heel. Wasn't penalised for it on my advanced test.
  11. This is why I'm glad I learnt to drive first.
  12. god damn i thought I could use my old 3rd party top box....grrr

    Europe trip!

My experience was of an Italian manager shouting in Italian (got the gist of it) at the desk staff for almost letting me walk out of the door without seeing him first.
  16. Can I just chuck these, I don't seem to ever use them I'm in the process of loading my tool box onto my wall using tool organisers. I mean you go to car boots and see bucket loads of these rusty sockets but never any metric for sale
  17. Fixed the tractor noise, he forgot to remind me to tighten the exhaust manifold after a few runs. One bolt missing.
  18. Well after having the tank off and fixing my idle adjustment, new clutch cable it sounds like a tractor. looking closer I don't know if I'm pinching a vacuum hose on the left side. Will wait for my new inspection lamp to come after dropping the old one.
  19. Air filter new, coming up to 15k miles
  20. Have had old CG carbs apart but not willing to take the plunge with my bandit yet. Don't know if related or just coincidence after having fuel tank off to fix idle adjustment I messed up (eventually remember to reconnect vacuum hose to carbs) bike is now gargling low revs even when warmed up. Getting two outside plugs out (easier) one looks good the other carbon Fowled. Is that a good sign valve clearance and carb balance needs doing?

    Europe trip!

To get the best rates you need to speak to the manager not the dolly on the desk. Threaten to walk out if they don't look like budging. I got refused a night in a hotel because I only wanted one night. He said no rooms, then said if 3 nights yes. Strange way to run a business. Ended up sleeping in car. I've been in august ended up in the mountains without taking winter gear, froze at night in tent using a stove in tent giving myself carbon monoxide poisoning It was like a homer moment... I'm getting dizzy here let's turn it off. Okay I'm cold now turn it back on... Oh I'm dizzy again.
  22. I might as well be on my push bike
  23. Right it's like clockwise for out and anti clockwise for in like the oil sump? Or being upside confuses me. I had screwed it too far in. The spring was making it really hard to turn against it which was the feeling that it might have broken. But it's fine. Replaced stiff clutch cable. All sorts of crap coming out of the bottom of the old one. Feels good... Now it's just started raining grrr My 125 is pathetic, wtf have I been playing at
  24. The CBT should have been your first time on a motorcycle the people that did your CBT will be able to offer you private lessons, just ring them back and mention you don't feel confident enough on your own yet
