  1. i have reused them when not damaged and had no problems
  2. i would of thought the indicators would run through the main ign loom via a relay and the switch on the handlebars
  3. i voted for rutland if im about i will be there if thats where it ends up
  4. it could possibly cause a coil to over heat and break down under load as well have you given it a good run to make sure that it isnt just due to fuel pump overpriming if it has one?
  5. i got a call to work at 4pm so i didnt make it in the end
  6. not to sure but have you checked there is not a large circlip round both the inner drum and the front of the outer where clutch plates are ?
  7. a 10w30 fork oil will be fine to use
  8. anyone going tomorrow night if weather ok???
  9. the forks are meant to be level with the top edge of the tope yolk if you have forks stantion showing through the top then it has been lowered on the front but not very likely when the rear was jacked up you would normally drop them down a bit if it had been lowered
  10. will reply in here rather than the post in bike chat i gress you definatly need to get the 3 sheared bolts changed if you can drill them out carefully then you will need to replace the plate they go into
  11. is it a tubed tyre and they got a puncture as riding on that would casue it to come off the rim.when you say come off the rim has it come over the outer edge of the rim or gone into the centre of the rim?
  12. at the bottom of the down pipes you just need to cut plates big enough to cover the bad area and weld them straight over the top dressing it into shape as you go not that hard to do
  13. you mgiht be able to just unbolt it from the frame and move it out of the way i would say that it is also best to use a wire brush on the bolts where it goes into the cylinder head and spray up witha good quality penetrating oil a couple of times before trying to undo the nuts or bolts whichever you have.you dont need to remove tank or drain engine oil if you can just unbolt the oil cooler and move it away enough.just remember to use new gaskets in the head where the pipes go in when fitting the new system
  14. depending on what bike it is you might need to remove fairings and rad if it has them what bike is it
  15. if its got seperate k&ns on it then it might of been upjetted in the carbs as well locate the mixture screws and turn them right in untill they just nip up then turn them all out 1 1/2 turns for basic settng
  16. before you go messing with the carbs have you checked how clean the air filter is and is the choke cable moving freely
  17. think you will find that the fuel tap is normall postions down for on to the centre for off and up for reserve unless it is vaccum tap easist way to check is have look at it behind he panel and see if it has a small hose going to the side of the tap but i think they are normall and possibly has a fuel pump on it
  18. of the split in the tyre
  19. main thing you need to check is engine mounting positions and the cg engine well the early ones used points ign not electronic so that might throw up a few problems you really ned to get hold of moutning position measurements for both engines there might be other forum members with a cg engine that can measure centres for you to compare to yours
  20. before you go paying out for alternator you would be better off spending less than £10 on a volt meter on ebay it might just save you fortunes in the future
  21. have you checked that the switch hasnt come loose near the lever, if it is still locked in place then might need replacing
  22. cant remember the users name but if its the one im thinking of he was doing a honda hornet 600 that went up for sale on ebay unfinished
  23. as you have mounted them onto fibreglass mudguards have you run an earth from the bulb units to the battery - terminal or to a good earth on the frame?
  24. you might also need to know the colour code on them as they do various sizes
  25. chances are that bike has got a 1 piece crank fitted in it so you will need to buy a coplete crankshaft assembly and then need new main bearings that fit into the crankcases,if you have no idea about engines would be best left to someone who does to be honest unless you have the correct tools
