  2. i would say they are off either v twins or v fours
  3. they hada lot of problems with the alternators on them check out the charging system
  4. they could be off thousand different bikes/cars if they have a part number on them it might be worth sticking the part number into google and see what comes up
  5. its not an imported bike with the beam angle set to wrong way as if its being driven on the opposite side of the road is it as thats what it sounds like to me
  6. if its water cooled white smoke could be a sign of head gasket but if 2 stroke it could be to much oil but that would normally be blue smoke as its oil based burning
  7. if it has never been registered in the uk you will need some details from an owners club or similar to confirm the age so you can get age related plate and not have it subjected to msva rules and current regs regarding construction apart from that i had never heard of them let alone seen an owners club or anything but i would imagine there is one somewhere
  8. it should be ok at 13.3 volts are you taking the bike out for a run each time you start it or just starting it up then turning it off again as it can ake up to 7 miles to get the charge put back into the battery that was used to start the bike even more if you have to keep cranking it a long time to get it fired up,check earths as well as a bad or dirty earth can cause problems and make the starter pull more power to start than normall
  9. stick her on the back and bring her along that way you earn your good boy points for not only spending the day with her but also taking her out as well sounds like a win win situation to me
  10. thats alright ntill a drunken forum member trips over and crashes into it
  11. you need to be checking compression in case either the rings are worn or the crank shaft seals have gone
  12. there is several different companies out there that do them new but they are not cheap failing that keep an eye on ebay and if you find one it will depend on what bars you want to use for needing to change cables
  13. if the bars are fitted into the top yoke directly then you would need a different top yoke with risers on it to fit any other kind of bars
  14. not promising i will be there but i have picked an option
  15. send him a private message or hae a look on fazer forums he might be on there as well
  16. silly tho this might sound..................................have you made sure the kill switch on the handlebar next to the throttle is in the run position?
  17. will be the tank they often rot out right in the bottom corner where the fuel sits when its on side stand and the tank will have a residue of water sat there when unused for a period of time the lisuid metal is two components mixed together and they form a paste i think that you an then put around the affected area but make sure it is bone dry first or it will not seal you might be better off confiming it is the tank and then see if you can find a good 2nd hand one will be a lot less hassle
  18. nabd are normally really good with the kits and being able to put you in touch with someone who can help with the modifications so if you havent actuall spoken to one of the guys there it might be worth a call to find out just how much you are looking at to get it sorted good luck and hope you get otu on the open road soon
  19. polecat hasnt logged on for almost a year now alex so you might not get a reply
  20. i dont know of anyone who would come out and if they did it would cost you a fair bit i would of thought,as the other op said is there any reason you cant do it yourself or if you are certain you cant if you are lucky there might be a local forum member who would help you out for a cuppa you never know unless you ask but we can talk you through fitting it on here as well
  21. has it got a centre stand if so put it on it and then hold front wheel at top and bottom and see if there is any rocking movement die to side in it if ther is then wheel bearings are shot if they are ok then with the front still in the air get hold of the fork and see if there is any forward and backward free movement also turn handlebars from left to right action should be smooth and not feel any resistance or notching
  22. rather than weld two together and mess about getting it all balanced again it will be easier to use the front of the gt shaft and mate it to a reliant propshaft and then get that balanced will look much neater as well when all done
  23. wheel bearings are both sides of the wheel as other op said check tyre pressures then if they are ok start looking at wheel bearings and headrace bearings, also the engine mountings and rear wheel bearings
  24. that sounds like they expect you to let them take your bike onto somewhere else and then hope they return with it sounds like a risky move to me ..............just my opinion of course
  25. ollie isnt that a german one designed by bmw to help with cold starts in the mornings ?
