  1. i take it you havent seen the vid clips of others doing that and it costing them a finger or two chomped up in the chain and sprocket, the engine should never be running while working on the chain ">
  2. well if the seal is still leaking then take the bike back and have them fit genuine honda seals not pattern parts(of course ask politely if they used genuine or pattern parts)as its well known pattern seals are crap most of the time
  3. dont forget the left handed screwdriver as well in case they loosen up
  4. its a suzuki ts and either 50/100 or 125 should have frame number on side of headstock and possibly a metal vin tag giving more details as well and personally i think its past saving if thats all you got of the bike
  5. remove the spark plug and move the ht lead out of the way and place your thumb over the plug hole as the bike turns over the compression should try and push your thumb off the cylinder head, did you have the exhaust right off the bike to clean it out and before refitting try to blow down it to make sure it wasnt still blocked?
  6. if they are 8mm threaded bolts then you want to run a 7.5mm drill into the centre of them personally i would start witih something smaller to do pilot hole and often the heat from drilling can be enough to get whats left of the bolt out without damaging the thread
  7. no worries we all learn more every day you never know when the info will be usefull again
  8. Surely that only applies to a four stroke engine? yes worn rings stop a 2 stroke building enough compression to run unlike a 4 stroke
  9. as said in your other post it is partly cheap 2 stoke oil causing it and partly the amount going in with the petrol is possibly to much if it has got a manual injection pump for the 2 stroke it might be adjustable failing that just keep a good spark plug in it and you might have to clean exhaust out at regular intervals
  10. sounds like that will be your problem using cheap 2 stroke oil causes some of that problem in he old days we used to seal one end up and then fill exhaust with caustic soda /water mix leave overnight then rinse out following day that got loads of the crap out,i would leave the carb alone untill you have done the exhaust and see what happens then
  11. it could also be that the exhaust is blocked and not allowing fuel out of the engine it could be blocked with fuel or carbon deposits
  12. its a 2 stroke so no valves to stick open............well as far as i know its 2 stroke
  13. http://www.yell.com/s/engineering+machi ... ondon.html
  14. google will locate any local engineering shops near you or the yellow pages phone book if no one on here can help
  15. sound like the engine is full of fuel and causing vapour lock might need to remove exhaust and keep turning engine over by hand/foot to clear it out
  16. of course its going to be a wet weekend for u lot glastonbury is on this weekend as well and we all know that has a mud pit rather than a mosh pit
  17. i would be checking the earth from engine to frame and battery to frame making sure they are clean and in good condition
  18. check one of the calipers isnt sticking on slightly
  19. sounds like wear in the ign barrel itself and might need to replace it
  20. also ask them the final figure to pay it off and any penalties for doing so and if that alters if you only pay off enough to leave one final payment next month that often changes the way they charge things
  21. i would check chain adjustment before anything else sounds like a case of sloppy chain
  22. temp gauge could well be the sensor that is normally located around the thermostat somewhere if you find it pull the wire off and put it to earth see if gauge goes right up then you know its the sensor that needs replacing and as for the fuel gauge it sounds like the float and arm that senses the amount of fuel is having resistor problems and might need replacing
  23. the more air you have stored the better as you need fairly big flow for spraying paint so also need good pump to keep pressure up that would be fine for little jobs but heavy useage would soon have it struggling i think
  24. i would check the plug that is on the wire make sure its connected properly other than that it could be the sender itself failed
  25. nice to hear of a happy ending good luck to the 3 of you for the future
