  1. what an excellent way to keep new members on the forum at the end of the day everyone has their own opinion on each model of bike granted some are good some not so good but to make the whole forum look bad is down right rude as far as im concerned........................................and on that note i guess i better go for the night before i step in more horse shite
  2. the st must be a fairly good bike as a lot of the uk police forces choose them over anything else
  3. well i would say the red is a live feed for something the black is negative and the green/yellow goes to earth on a frame bolt as for the other plug no idea ideally you need to finda wiring diagram for the bike
  4. i have heard the k1600 is prone to getting blown around in windy conditions on motorways due to size of it catching the wind worse than a lot of the others
  5. liberal coating of duckhams 20w/50 tends to keep it in place
  6. use a long screwdriver or long thin piece of wood place one end near cam chain where u can get to it easy and place ear to other end have a listen you will hear if its cam chain ticking away and to be fair it is sounding like it possible is that
  7. well done on passing moo and please dont forget that at some point your cbt will run out for the bike and glad to be of help with the advice
  8. welcome to the forum have you checked the air filter and also the exhaust for being blocked as often happens on 2 strokes so restricting flow stopping it revving up properly
  9. happy birthday bob have a good day
  10. when many years younger a mate of mine used to live a few doors up from a traffic police officer some of us had noisy bikes and we would often come out to find a note on the seat saying verbal warning keep the noise down, but he did come in handy one day when he pulled me doing 80 in a 50 area and just gave me a serious telling off before sending me on my way
  11. ollie for the earths the negative of the battery should go straight to the frame somewhere and also check one from engine to frame if need be use a jump lead from battery to frame and engine to frame that will check out most the heavy duty earths
  12. with the amount of work both you glorian and ollie have done to your bikes and experience gained from them you should open up your own shop trading solely in bandits and f650's
  13. steering head bearings will not make a clicking sound if bike is moved around on full lock they will make a clicking sound if braking and they have free play in them wheel bearing could click due to weight being on it at a different angle so as others have said get wheel off the floor and check top and bottom for movement on both wheels, also i know you have just replaced it but check drive chain for peace of mind
  14. No, you are definitely missing something obvious. One should use "fewer" when dealing with discrete variables, i.e. something that may be counted. Aside from advanced grammar - I read your posts with great interest Trekkie-wekki. You didn't say you went to a large motor factor to get your pipe, I can't believe you fell for the old "ethanol proof pipe" jape. Next thing you know they'll be offering you tartan paint, left handed spanners and a reacharound. How old is your BMW? Not made for leaded was it? That'd certainly explain why you lost the seats. It's true what you say, you can't teach an old dog new tricks any more than you can convince a Daily Mail reader of a fact by showing them empirical data. I look forward to reading your next post, I'll be keeping an eye out for it. There are 'left-handed ADJUSTABLE spanners, just as there are left-handed scissors. Pease do not generalise or you will never win the argument. Now, as to 'tartan paint' - did they not withdraw that from production due to the ethanox content? no gog it was due to the emergence of the bay city rollers and the paint maker trying to distance itself from them
  15. Does it have a cable? Looks hydraulic. it is hence the reason there is no brake cable in existence for it so am at a loss as to what it is that you need?
  16. if its a bolt and rounded off then try dressing a slightly smaller socket onto the bolt or nut whichever it is it might work
  17. not even once the beard trimmings are added al?
  18. if you drop the front as well you are going to change all the steering geometry making it turn in quicker as you corner dont forget that
  19. i found if only dropping 20mm then often the stand is ok but if like on my blade i dropped it 35 mm then i had to shorten the side stand
  20. the cct will adjust on its own once the chain gets slack enough unless it has stuck, one way to see w hat happens is give it a gentle tap with big screwdriver or small hammer as it might be stuck and will pop free when tapped
  21. yep sounds like cct
  22. check the multi plug that goes from in the fairing area up into the clocks it might be loose or the contacts filthy dirty and need cleaning up or just a dodgy earth even
  23. dream machine might be able to supply them otherwise yamaha should be able to for a stupid amount of money
  24. are you sure its not clutch rattle they are prone to that as well
  25. start the bike up and use a thin length of wood or a long screw driver place it on the cct and use your ear to listen to what ever you have placed there you will hear the noise through the wood or whatever is put there you can place it at different points around the engine to listen to whats going on in there
