  1. at the rate we are losing places to go we will have to chip in and buy a forum burger van to park up in big layby on nice summer evenings and weekend and work a rota in it
  2. you will need correct size socket to undo front sprocket and to do it back up again apart from that if it is a soft link type chain you will need a chain splitter/angle grinder and then a chain link rivetter and of course the correct size socket for removing and replacing rear sprocket
  3. sorry it went so bad for you as others have said where abouts in the country are you and maabe other members on here can advise you of better trainers

  5. changing plugs is not to bada job just got to ake set and tank off and might have to loosen a plate or 2 over the top of the engine you will need a plug socket and extension bar and ratchet make sure the socket has got a rubber boot in it to grip the plug so once its undone it will stay in the socket as yo lift it up out of the hole its in

  7. you have got to give the dealer fair chance to correct the problems with the bike before you can try saying its not worth having sounds like they didnt pdi it correctly or hoped it would clear up as time went on but first thing to do is ring dealer and get all the faults corrected under warranty

  9. if you have never touched a bike before then the geton scheme is a very good idea as it gives you an insite on what a bike is and what lever is where and as its free its worth sorting out then going for cbt afterwards
  10. follow the main wire with the red cover on it down behind the left hand side panel i think and ther you will find the starter solonoid when you press the start button its t his you will hear click give it a tap with something see if that makes it work as the contacts could be stuck inside it failing that try bump starting it using leg power and 2nd gear see what happens then
  11. battery is under front half of the seat just pop the seat off and you will see it sat there, ther might be a metal plate across the top of it that will need to be undone just one 10mm headed bolt each side and plate will move out the way if i remember correctly
  12. 1st off if you leave the bike with the mot place to change the headrace bearings then retest should be free of charge normally but as bearing set is no more than £25 then £175 labour does seem a bit over the top and have to agree with other op that they have priced it as they not keen on doing the work but will for a price like that
  13. he means whats the list of faults on the bike that are being corrected under warranty
  14. warranty on a bike doesnt include a hire bike but it it was a major problem that was going to take a long time to sort its up to the dealer if he offers you one or not out of the goodness of his heart and we all know about dealers hearts
  15. ride it flat out and when it cuts out open fuel cap as quick as you can see if you hear a hiss from it in which case it will be the breather blocked or partly blocked

  21. it also tends to show up if you change what boots you wear due to the difference in feel to your foot caused by the boots
  22. dont forget the problem of steering lock and bars hitting the tank and if its a fiared model you might have to make new cut outs in the fairing best leaving well alone in my opinion
