  1. I’ve got a heart monitor implanted in my chest which i can switch on and off with a remote on my car key bunch ... I love to switch it on at the top of monster hill climbs i do on my bicycle and alternate it with relaxing and reducing my heart rate to it’s possible slowest without me falling to sleep ..

The cardiac dept keep telling me off for using it as a toy .... :classic_biggrin:

  2. I’ll start .... 17 years married ... 3 children 18, 15 and 12 ..... Every 3rd week i would get on the motorbike and ride from Cardiff or Norwich ... to spend the weekend with them ...

We had great weekends ... adventures and laughter, camping and skateboarding, surfing and motorbikes ....

    Then one weekend .......

My eldest ... took me to the beach ... a place of safety to us .... He told me that he and his sister and brother where worried about how upset Mum was every time i visited ..

They loved me but did not want me to come again .... it was too upsetting for Mum and them after i had left.

I could hear my ex’s words to them in my head ... the master of manipulation was she .....

18 years later I only have contact with my daughter .... My ex poisoned so much happiness .... because she could .............

Oh that last silly dream request for my ashes is to be fired form a cannon from lands end so part of me can go to my roots up north and part come south...  However there will probably be the preverbal west wind and I will end up in there faces which is fine, by me  :D

Although the higher powers will probably not decide in my favour    :angel12:

My grandson has accepted the task of paddling out from Godrevy Beach, in my kayak, and distributing my ashes into the sea ... so the whole family can come and swim with me any time they wish ......................

  4. Our family really enjoy a good funeral.

My Granny’s went on for 3 days ..... We always have a great party, a celebration of a life. My mum died 2 years ago, 94, a great family get together .. we had the service at the grave and then at the hotel Julie and I got married at ... Same room .... Great family get  together for all age groups ... Thousands turned up for my Uncle Johns funeral, the roads where packed throughout Ligoneil, Woodvale and the Shankill .... Hundreds came back to the estate in Newtownards where my sister lived .....

The one thing in common with all these great family funerals  .... they where old, had fantastic lives ... and where fully aware to the end ...

Young funerals .......... not ever fun ...........

  5. It comes from a local Christian charity .. there’s absolutely no complaints, usually there a good mix of basic veg, pasta and meat products ... but sometimes it does seem to go awry .. one week last month she had a catering pack of smoked mackerel , a catering pack of kippers and a whole melon ..:classic_biggrin: ..
We do swaps for her ....

  6. My daughter is on a low income and lives in supported / secure housing ... It’s a nice 3 bed semi but she has someone visit her 2 -3 times a week.
She was told she was eligible for a weekly food parcel, which she was thankful for and has been a help ....
Until this week ....... Pictured is the full contents of her food parcel ....
She’s not complaining ... just baffled ... We’ve found good homes for it ...

My first mini used to do this, poking finger through floor just let the water run out 😁

I had a totally reliable, but self draining, Morris Minor as my first car, XVB 45. I drove through a ford in the village of St. Mawgan and jets of water squirted up my wifes dress ... .... not amused. But drained away as soon as we where clear of the ford.

Aygo. not had issues until last couple of weeks so pretty sure that the cover is the culprit. I know the old mk1 Aygo was prone to leaks but they sorted them for the mk2 model

Our 07 Aygo leaks like a sieve ... we park it with the windows open 10mm whenever it’s not raining ... otherwise its like driving a mobile swamp

Depends what you’re photographing, if you earn a crust from weddings or school photos....

Good point ... there are a number of Rail photo companies ... Milestone 92 1/2 is the one we use, that compile original pics of the subject and sell a single or multi use licence to companies like ours  ...

But they have to go out and get the pics ... going out to work ... stood on a railway bridge near you ... not sure what LTF is targeting as his USP .... but best of luck .... respect ...

Thanks Caroline. Well, It's eventually going to be a new photography-related business, but whilst we're in lockdown all I can do is prepare. I'm just waiting for some equipment to arrive, after which I need to get some portfolio shots together. I can then update my website, after which I can start some marketing (and then wait!).

You can travel as much as you want if it’s for business, and adding images to your business portfolio is work ... and you can’t do it working from home ...

I have something similar recommended by an off road riding instructor except it has a large top compartment as well as the side bags. I was dubious it would do the job but for the money thought I’d give it a go before forking out for panniers on the Himalayan. It is well worth the money.

Four straps on the bike and they simply go through some small non slip ratchet style buckles on the bag so it’s easy to remove and replace the bag which also has a conveniently placed handle for carrying. Capacity wise the large bag has been more than adequate and I’ve been happy not leaving gear on the bike. I didn’t buy mine from here and the ‘Motorcycle Travel Shop’ in Paignton is shut with nothing showing in their website, hope they have survived the lockdowns!

I've got one of these ... faultless .. 2 bungees across it and all is well ....

  12. Me and my sister where discussing music we would like at our funerals ... as you do ... lots of funnies occurred to us both, but i’ve settled on;

Nimrod, by Elgar .. as people are filing in. Cliche .... but good cliche.

The Minstrel Boy, Joe Strummer and the Mescalero's version .. 1st Hymn. A 17th century song for those that died in the first Irish uprising, but became an anthem for the British Army and the Orange Order .... and Shankill Protestant Boys band.

Brothers in Arms, Dire Straits .. 2nd Hymn, curtains close on casket. Fine anti war song.

Above and beyond, Group Therapy, Out Of The Totem Matrix (Above & Beyond Mashup) .. All leave. Techno .. techno .. techno  ....

No ones singing at my funeral, just enjoy ( or hate ) the music. ^_^
