I can quite often be found at the Super Sausage on the A5 near Towcester or any other hostelry.

Never been bitten by a dog ever. Most only bite if provoked.

I have .. twice, proper through the flesh to the bone bites ... by our lovely Westie, at the vets ... he's terrified of the vets ... and like most Westie males he thinks he's a wolf !! Covered the walls in a spray of my blood last time ... Such a gentle dog ... until he's at the vets ....

Trying to round up two mad horses.....

    I used to own Fell ponies .... this is Davids Horse Ownership Simulator for those that would like to try horse ownership;

Stand naked on top of a hill in pouring rain, in winter, drop house bricks on your feet while setting fire to £20 notes.

That just about sums it up !

You say that Trooper but each lockdown slowed the spread of the disease and reduced the R Rate. so, erm, like, you are erm, like wrong and stuff.

And after each lockdown the R number,  and infections got higher and higher and higher ...  so, erm, like, you are erm, like wrong and stuff.

And today we've seen huge crowds going shopping ... Really !!

One year my son desperately wanted the Lego Millenium falcon. It was far far too advanced for his 5 year old brain so the majority of Christmas Day was spent putting together the over 7500 pieces. He was thrilled, he picked it up took a few steps, tripped over his own feet and smashed it into hundreds and hundreds of pieces. I’ve never seen my husbands face that white before or since 😆 Although the pedal tractor we left the assembling of until they went bed on Christmas Eve is right up there, it was ridiculously complicated and we’d had far too much of Santa’s Sherry to make sense of the German instructions, took 4 hrs to get it together 😆

You can purchase a water soluble adhesive that you dissolve in a container and dunk your model into and it glues it all together ... we used it for our Falcon ... apparently if you want to dismantle all you have to do is leave it overnight in a bath of warm water and it comes apart again ... haven't tried the latter but it certainly works ... we bought it from a model engineering show in Shipley ...

I wouldn’t compare new with second hand, need to compare both new or both second hand. A new GS would comparatively set you back a lot more.
The Himalayan sits in an inbetween world of not being a true off road bike but it’s very capable and comfortable enough to do the miles on. You wouldn’t necessarily want to ride with other people on more powerful adventure bikes on motorways n dual carriageways though cos it’s not powerful enough. It can do 80 but it’s not happy.

I picked up my used Himalayan for £2900 it was only one year old and only 1900 miles on the clock. Already had an immobiliser fitted, heated grips and sintered brake pads. Bargain.

I always plan my routes via A roads and avoid motorways wherever possible on the Himma ... as you say, it can do 80 but is a lot happier plodding along between 60 - 70 .... One motor way trip from Sheffield to Dartford (M1 / M25) used a fair bit of oil ... But it's a big clunky single so no surprise.

Now now peeps, 'tis the season of goodwill and all that. Just organising a Christmas bimble to New Brighton where hopefully we can find a bag of chips and some scooter riders to fight with on the beach. Must keep traditions alive.

We're off to Hornsea for the same .... chips, fish and frost bite ...

No. there are two mid winters. One recognised by the meteorologists for whom winter begins on December 1st.  so, mid winter for them is 6 weeks after that. But that's only related to the weather. The traditional midwinters day is 21st. The shortest day of the year.

Sorry to be pedantic but .......

Read your own post, the shortest day is the end of Autumn and the start of Winter .... not the middle of winter !!

As the longest day is the end of Spring and the start of summer .... not Midsummer

    AAAGGGHHH!

Seconded, that sounds a bit grim.

Sorry, sorry, ... it's not grim to us ... it's just the background noise of life .... I make it sound grim but don't mean too ... we've had a great day ....

  17. Girls had us up at 0700 hrs .. We let our daughter stay last night and to be honest it has been a great day. Best Yorkshire Sunday dinner with presents for years.

We've let the girls go to their mums tonight .... mmm not sure .. but we'll be picking them up at 1000hrs tomorrow ... Connor and I are nervous but Julie says we have to see what happens ..... Which usually means the girls being dropped of by the police in their PJ's at 3 am !!

Our 3 year old is home with his mummies, no heating or hot water, council say they will be out in 2-3 days ... not too good for a mum with stage 4 cancer and a 3 year old .... no doubt Covid will get the blame .....

But it has been a good day ... really
