One of my very, very, tenuous claims to fame was a picture of me in cool shades and a black t-shirt in Back Street Heroes Mag ... on the front it said "Death before Disco"
on the back it said "Death before Pot Noodle" .....
How things have changed ......
OH, and just to clear a few things up ..
I also invented Moped Mayhem and Skateboards ....

We did LEJOG in 2019 ... 10 of us cycling and julie and Riley in one very ratty camper van, carrie and steve in their home built van and Linda in her tiny camper ...the rest of the guys camped ... we where at a campsite in Devon when a guy on a motorbike climbed over the gate and waved to us as he wandered past ... he had a kettle with a 1 mtr ..ish cable .. found a pitch power point, ... boiled his kettle .. made his coffee and porridge... and climbed over the gate ... after eating lots of our biscuits ... he never paid for camping but would just pinch their lecky for his morning coffee and breakfast ...
Top Chap ...
Carrie .. Riley ( 7 months old) ... Julie ...

A Dobbies garden centre near us now has a Sainsbury’s outlet in the store.
https://www.dobbies.com/content/extended/find-a-garden-centre/stratford-upon-avon.html
Dobbies is owned by Midlothian Capital Partners and Hattington Capital.... but was previously owned by Tesco who made £100M profit on the sale ....

They are open to provide food on a takeaway only basis. Food is classed as essential, I doubt a new flower pot is
AAHH ..but ... garden centres provide the wherewithal to grow your own food ... essential here in Year Zero land....

I can understand the likes of screwfix etc being open as you might need to repair some plumbing or sort a collapsed ceiling etc. Trade will use them as well.
I just can't see why a garden centre is classed as essential though
I can't see why McDonalds, Kentucky et al are open either .... but they are ....
But hang on ... we know that lockdowns make no difference ...so why not ...

Design of tent means I can arrange more than sufficient ventilation, it also means in rain it can be under cover, in half flooded campsite it can be on ground sheet not in puddles of water/ mud, my biggest concern is stability and it falling over, hence my question.
Using gas to heat things you soon learn that it makes more condensation than heat in most cases unless well ventilated.
I did wonder who would bite when I said inside. It's a stupid idea !

And of course, I would in no way wish to be seen as endorsing the use of a camping stove inside the tent no matter how stable, if you go up in flames it's all on you
Truly a Darwin Awards moment .... camping stove in the tent ..never ... in the porch way open to the atmosphere only

Do you need a wind shield when using it, which would you say is the better fuel, gas or meths.
If you check out the web site you can see It has it's own wind shield as part of the package ... i'm a fan of meths .... a full burner will boil 4 pints of water .... one pint at a time of course ...

The battery on our Transit mini bus is under a panel beneath the drivers seat ... it's huge due to the auto / stop start facility.... but under the bonnet is a small red plastic hatch which gives a positive connection for jumpstarting other vehicles ... what a good idea ... to change the battery all I have to do is remove the drivers seat, take out 18 bolts / screws and hire a small crane to lift the battery out !!!

Trangia ... It is the way ....
Mines 38 years old now and till in monthly use for brews and picnics and camping 2-3 weeks a year ... easy to convert to gas with a small coleman but equally just great with meths.

Happy new year to you all ... lets hope for a considerably less interesting year in 2021 ........

My first car , Morris Minor , didn't have a heater fitted ... it was an extra .... ! in winter driving over Salisbury plain to Newquay i would have to stop now and again to scrape ice off the inside of the windows ... Or stop breathing ....
The Transit has heated screens front and rear ...
