  1. might seem like a daft question but i have one of those cable oilers and have no idea how you use it... so how do you use it ??..
  2. theres a few specials kickign about mate.... if it was a little black one it could have been one of the lads on his rd/yz bitsa
  3. Well i have never been to a proper rally before and didnt think i would make this one but due to the kindness of a couple of members of the 2 stroke forum i was able to make it.. Then i was given a bike to ride on the rideout which was a Suzuki RH250 I know most of you arent into 2 strokes but the rideout from Squires to Seaways was awesome.. 105 2 stroke bikes blasting through the 45 mile journey was something to behold... All in all the best weekend i have had in years and cant wait for next year... here are a couple of vids taken on the day and for those who know their 2 strokes you will see some amazing bikes from Rd's, LC's X7s and a plethora of other exotics... Heres us leaving Squires "> having a break to let the tail enders catch up in a layby and finally Seaways cafe with some of us arriving "> Fantastic weekend with great people, fantastic bikes and lots of beer... life doesnt get any better than this
  4. ah ok thanks mate
  5. erm right i understand now but still havent a clue what i have on mine... will either type fit or will O ring ones only work on O ring chains and same with X ring ones???
  6. ok well i didnt know hence why i asked.... can i ask whats the difference between an O ring chain and an X link chain?... i dont know what type i have and so i dont know which link to go for
  7. could i not use one of these ones with the lock plate thingy??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-CH ... 2573d6fd4e
  8. cheers EAB... just looked and it is stmaped with EK530 MVXZ... just one thing mate what stops the link plate from falling off on the soft link you have pointed me too as it doesnt have one of those lock slides ??

    Soft links

I am swapping a chain on my CBR and the one i am putting on hasnt got a Soft Link... I believe the chain is a 530 O ring chain but i could be wrong as i know sod all about chains... question is i need a pair of soft links and i dont know which ones to go for is there anyway of checking or finding out for sure
  10. personally i would rather use abit more fuel than running the engine lean and on the edge of destruction... i run my 2 strokes slightly rich for that very reason and with the little 100 i hammer it all over.... no issues whatsoever because the carb is upjetted... now if i did that running lean the engine would have holed a piston by now... you mention the performance has improved which is the bonus of what they did.... if you want to increase your MPG upshift at lower revs and ride it slower... most modern 125 4 bangers couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding anyway
  11. hang on... why wont the firm you got the sprocket off change it for the correct one for your bike?... any firm worth their salt would do it no problem... theres no way i would be drilling a sprocket to fit.... firstly the steel is extremely hard and frankly i just dont see why you should have to
  12. i have had mine about a year and the only faults i can give it are its noisy and one of the visor retaining plastics cracked and broke...have used it in rain loads of times and its never leaked for me.... for what it cost its a good lid in my opinion
  13. what a horrendous day... as has been said though it does happen now and then when nowt goes right... i had a DAS lesson like that and everything i did was wrong... i wish you luck on your second attempt and you will soon be wondering what all the fuss was about
  14. right this is what i have checked today.... swapped coils over and plugs which made no difference.... Took head off what i thought was the poor cylinder and checked gasket, gave it a decoke while i was i there... no difference... carb and inlet rubber off again and after a thorough check of both and a clean of the carb again... no difference... finally i checked the compression on what i think is the bad cylinder and it has tons of compression for a 2 stroke... so back to square one again
  15. no its not nippin when warm mate,,.,. once the revs are up it goes like the clappers... as the revs drop it sounds like its dropping to one cylinder but that of course is just a guess... it may just be very weak on the poor cylinder
  16. did you pass your test??... if not i can recommend a very good school who i passed with and although the instructor will pull you up on mistakes he is a rough diamond in reality... 2wheels in Hendon Sunderland are superb
  17. i did that the other day EAB and they are both the same colour.. a kinda of dark caramel colour...
  18. its a single carb mate and as the other cylinder is fine i wouldn tthink it would be a carb issue... could points or condensor cause it as it has a set for each cylinder
  19. EAB it could be leaking at the clutch side but i cant spray that side with engine running.. i have tried around the head, base gasket, inlet rubber etc and made no difference to revs at all.. the carb has brand new jets in it and it has been cleaned so many times its beyond a joke... it doesnt have reeds at all it just has the carb then inlet rubber onto the head.. choke on when its warm kills the engine straight away..
  20. EAB i had that casin off last week and its clean as a whistle on there... no signs of oil at all.
  21. yeah the choke is a plunger type which you manually push and pull... its working correctly mate
  22. yeah someone else mentioned crank oil seals... it can be a twat to start sometimes yet other times it fires straight away... once revs are up it pulls like a train
  23. Lads i wonder if any of you smart lot can point me in the right direction here.. Basically i have a 2 stroke twin and when engine is cold and choke is on it idles and pulls fine from a standstill.. Once warmed up it bogs down relaly badly and wont idle at all...I have checked all the usual stuff like plugs and air filter etc and also checked the inlet rubber in case its split but all seems fine.. Could it be an air leak, a weak spark on one of the cylinders as it sounds like it could be dropping to one cylinder before it stalls or something else?
  24. Do any of you lads know how to remove the rear wheel on a Z1000 kawasaki?.. Mate has just rang and it has some kind of wierd setup on the back and he is unable to figure out how the rear wheel is removed from the bike.. cheers
  25. Doh why didnt i think of that sometimes i amaze myself how dopey my questions are
