no its not nippin when warm mate,,.,. once the revs are up it goes like the clappers... as the revs drop it sounds like its dropping to one cylinder but that of course is just a guess... it may just be very weak on the poor cylinder

No luck with instructors...
argentum40 replied to a topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
did you pass your test??... if not i can recommend a very good school who i passed with and although the instructor will pull you up on mistakes he is a rough diamond in reality... 2wheels in Hendon Sunderland are superb -
i did that the other day EAB and they are both the same colour.. a kinda of dark caramel colour...
-
its a single carb mate and as the other cylinder is fine i wouldn tthink it would be a carb issue... could points or condensor cause it as it has a set for each cylinder
-
EAB it could be leaking at the clutch side but i cant spray that side with engine running.. i have tried around the head, base gasket, inlet rubber etc and made no difference to revs at all.. the carb has brand new jets in it and it has been cleaned so many times its beyond a joke... it doesnt have reeds at all it just has the carb then inlet rubber onto the head.. choke on when its warm kills the engine straight away..
-
EAB i had that casin off last week and its clean as a whistle on there... no signs of oil at all.
-
yeah the choke is a plunger type which you manually push and pull... its working correctly mate
-
yeah someone else mentioned crank oil seals... it can be a twat to start sometimes yet other times it fires straight away... once revs are up it pulls like a train
-
Lads i wonder if any of you smart lot can point me in the right direction here.. Basically i have a 2 stroke twin and when engine is cold and choke is on it idles and pulls fine from a standstill.. Once warmed up it bogs down relaly badly and wont idle at all...I have checked all the usual stuff like plugs and air filter etc and also checked the inlet rubber in case its split but all seems fine.. Could it be an air leak, a weak spark on one of the cylinders as it sounds like it could be dropping to one cylinder before it stalls or something else?

Do any of you lads know how to remove the rear wheel on a Z1000 kawasaki?.. Mate has just rang and it has some kind of wierd setup on the back and he is unable to figure out how the rear wheel is removed from the bike.. cheers

-
Youngun eh? Well I was once, but it seems like an awful long time ago No problem mate tell me about it mate.... its a distant memory fo rme as well
-
Just a quickie lads when changing the oil on a bike with an oil cooler do you have to drain the oil cooler as well or will it drain from the drain plug on the engine?
-
god no i wouldnt waste my time with it....
-
aye was shocked to hear the news... Similar to you he was a great player for Newcastle and loved by the fans... such a sad loss
-
cheers bud.. i hope so as they are cheaper to replace than a CDI
-
well its dead again... went out following day and once again it wouldnt start... it stinks of fuel when tryin to fire it up so i dont think its fuel related... theres afella fairly locally who is breaking one and i am getting the pickup coils and coil packs with leads on a try before you buy basis... so if these dont work then only other thing it can be is the bloody CDI which are fairly expensive even second hand...
-
Thanks to EAB's suggestion i whipped off the cover to check the pickup coils and a small amount of oil was in there... cleaned it out of the casing with a degreaser and after reassembly she burst into life... thanks alot mate i wouldnt have checked those usually as i didnt know about pickup coils until you mentioned it... will have to keep an eye on those in future
