I am looking for someone who knows how to set carbs up localish to me.. I refuse to pay Westgate Road prices as they are bloody expensive and besides probs couldnt afford em anyway.. If theres anyone who is good at this kinda thing and wouldnt mind setting mine up in exchange for a few beer tokens i would appreciate it

Well i had a leak where the Can meets the downpipes and i used Holts Firegum... a few dollops spread around the joint, wang the pipe on, tighten up and started engine... no leaks and jobs a goodun... you can remove any excess straight away before it hardens with a damp cloth or sponge...

you can use ur old paper license when going for your test but you need to take a passport with you as additional proof... after you pass your test the test centre wont be able to send away your license for upgrading though and you will have to do that yourself with the necessary form from the postie or you maybe able to download one

rather you than me over there lol... also they not arf talk wierd dont they....

funnily the rear has a braided line already but the fronts are still rubber... will check out the cost of braided lones for the front... thanks for the input lads
-
Colin yeah i know but these are hard with not alot of stoppin power... i think i will just replace them and at least i know they are new... If i can get the bleed nipples slackened i will replace the fluid as well... What pads would you recommend as the choice is huge out there... I have read somewhere HH sintered pads are best i think... what would you lads use?
-
better explanation of hard??... lol.... ok only other way to explain it would be that it feels like the pads are down to metal but they are not... theres very little squeezability in the lever...
-
Ok the front and rear brakes do work okish but not as well as they should... When the lever is pulled the pads have a 'hard' feel to them.. Would you change the pads all round ( still plenty of meat on em) or replace the fluid all round or maybe both?.. Can pads go 'off' if the bike has been standing for some time?... thanks lads

2 strokes do not sound horrible at all... however the Yam YZF-R is a 4 stroke not a 2 stroke.... you would be better off gettng a cheaper second hand 125 and lose very little on resale if you do your tests.... -
i thought it was utter shite to be honest.... tried a couple of episodes but nah would rather watch golf and i hate golf
-
ok thanks fella... gotta work out how to get into em first lol... not used to faired bikes as never had one before

As you will know i have a CBR600 and when its warmed up the idle is very erratic, it smells like its running rich and also its a cow to start when hot.... Now as i know nowt about 4 strokes any advice on setting carbs up so the mixture is right and also getting the other problems sorted will be muchly apprecaited

Ok firstly anyone know the settings for the petcock?... is it the old way of ON/OFF/RES or the newer way of ON/RES/PRIME?...and which way is which please as theres bugga all marked on the petcock... Secondly the clutch when not engaged and engine aidling is very clattery and noisy... increse the revs abit or pull clutch lever and it goes away.... is this a common fault or a sign of impending doom? thanks

Found out why the steering was heavy.. The front tyre only had 8lb in it it should be 36lb but as i dont have a footpump had to use one off a mountain bike so my arm was killin me by the time i blew it up to near enough
