  1. thanks EAB.... will check those when i get a chance... wouldnt care but only rode it on wednesday... strage how things just pack up for no apparant reason
  2. Well as you will have gathered i have had loads of issues with my CBR and today it eventually gave up the ghost... It has no spark at all now and its on the verge of going to the nearest scrap yard as my patience has just about run out.. Before it goes i would welcome any ideas as to what the cause could be.. thanks guys and girls
  3. Wemoto also sell chain and sprocket kits for it... Your garage sounds like a waste of time to me... They obviously dont look very hard to find parts
  4. well done Alex... i think they keep you hanging sometimes on purpose but its all about the end result mate
  5. thats the problem with limp wristed 125 4 strokes... can barely pull the skin of a rice pudding...
  6. shit you lot look like a bunch of mercenaries could do with knowing who is who though as dont recognise anyone going off profile pics
  7. I have only ever had a rideout with 2 other people... One was on a scooter and we bimbled down the coast and the second was a rideout to Hartside and both myself and my biking partner said before we even set off that we would just pottle along and enjoy it... We did just that and absorbed the surroundings en route.. It gave us both a stress free ride and perosnally i have no interest in steamin along tryin to get there as fast as i can... If i was in a group that rode that way i wouldnt ride with em..
  8. thanks lads and lasses... got my birthday present off the postie.. 2m of HT cable for the bike
  9. alot of the 2 stroke lads use black BBQ paint... not used it myself but some of em are pretty choosy about what they use on their machines
  10. ah right apologies lads i didnt see the drop down box... hhmmm might be worth a punt so thanks guys for the help i appreciate it
  11. those plugs are nowhere near deep enough... the ones on the CBR need to be about 6" long as the spark plugs are deep in the engine.. Stu £45 is alot better than 60 its true enough... i will have to see if i can fine somehwere else to get the leads from as theres no way i am forking out nearly 150 for 4 of the buggers
  12. replacement coils are about £60 each and HT leads complete with spark plug cap are between £32 and £35 each so would cost nearly £250 for to replace them.. I havent seen any pattern parts as replacements for the HTs and the coils are pattern parts. God knows what genuine Honda ones would cost.. Bearing in mind i have replqaced the coil already
  13. problem is Stu the plug caps are sealed onto the HT leads and cant be removed... And as the plugs are like 10 miles deep in the engine cant just use normal plug caps
  14. the HTs are different ones EAB... unless the other ones are knackered as well like as it was a second hand coil... New Hts are nearly £35 each
  15. Ok so the symptom is my CBR600 is erratically firing on one of the cylinders... Seems ok at higher revs but misses alot at lower revs.. I have changed the coil pack and its still the same and my question is this... Each coil pack has 2 wires connected to the back of it...Does each wire control the firing on a single plug?... I have wired it up exactly as it was and other day i swapped the actual plug leads over and it fired fine on the 'dodgy' cylinder... If each individual wire controls a single spark plug then its probably just a ropey connector or wire even but if not i am stuck.. Seems wierd that it fired ok when i swapped the HT leads over from 1 to 4.. Any ideas lads?
  16. agree mate... so pleased for Tommy Hill and the Swan Yamaha team... Felt sorry for Hopper and also Ben WIlson in the Supersports but what a season finale... fantastic
  17. one of the ones up here will only fit tyres if the the wheels are off the bike... and you have to dispose of your old tyres yourself... Not sure if this is common practice of not
  18. No sympathy with the dead guy at all.... He knew the risks when taking part in criminal activity... Glad to see the fella isnt being charged and as has been said justice prevails for once... it could be a landmark case and maybe those thieving scumbags out there might think twice before breaking into someones home although i doubt it..

    bike smoking

maybe but there was loads of it is there nothing i can do to stop this? yeah dont ride in the rain its nowt to worry about... if its not doing it when its dry then the radiator is not leaking so just ignore it... water hitting hot metal surfaces will turn to steam no matter what you do...

    bike smoking

was it not just the rain water turning to steam?... theres nothing in or to do with a radiator which can emit smoke...
  21. 6V systems tend to use 8-10w indicator bulbs... the relays are generally 21-23w per side...
  22. when i got my CBR a few weeks back i remember thinkin " its not fast at all this " that was until i pinned it in 1st and 2nd and fook me did it go Until then i had bene pootling about at under 4k revs and its very civilised there and in fact easier to ride at slow speeds than my little 2 stroke RXS...
  23. the flasher relay will probs be under the tank attached to the frame rail by a rubber holder.. it will have 2 or 3 spade connectors in it ( 2 i think) takes seconds to replace or abit longer if you need to remove the tank...
