  1. Torque. I used to ride a Kawasaki 2 stroke powevalve which was quick when you kept it above 8000rpm. That seems a bit frantic. Also, if you are doing a steady speed you need to drop a few gears to get the power to overtake. With big bikes you often don't have to change gear to overtake- just open the throttle.
  2. A couple of months ago I looked at the fixed rate options on my Scottish Power account - it decided I would have to pay £131,000 a year. No idea why. I stuck with the standard, variable tariff!
  3. It is not uncommon for the connector joints on the PCB to fail due to the force of putting the plug in and out.
  4. Have you tried reflowing the solder? It is difficult to tell how good the joints are from the picture.
  5. You need to look up the techniques for picking up motorbikes - even 300kg+ bikes should not present a problem with the right technique on your own.
  6. Chargeback before court
  7. By the way, with credit card claims the bank usually just writes off the money and doesn't try to recover it from the supplier. Chargeback is different- that reverses the original transaction. It depends how you paid.
  8. I think the credit card company act as judge and jury in such cases. If the company took you to court they would lose and have to pay the costs.
  9. Small claims court is a last resort - try debit/credit card first. The problems with court is that it doesn't get you your money back even if you win. If they ignore threats of court, they probably won't turn up and lose the case. You still have to get you money back! I speak from experience (more than once)
  10. If you paid by credit card, the card company are jointly liable for the goods or services provided. I got my flight money back that way when SAS were taking months to refund. Debit cards are different and have a 180 day time limit, I think, but either way I would be trying to get my money back. Credit card companies also don't want to waste time with trivial court cases. I once told a credit card company I would name them jointly in a small claims court case and the coughed up. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/visa-mastercard-chargeback/
  11. Anyone know of a reputable charity that you could donate the £400 fuel rebate if you don't need it, to help people who do?
  12. Hip angle can be critical. Raising seat, lowering pegs are both worth trying.
  13. Suppression capacitor? If there isn't one, it could be a leaky element - with a single pole switch the other terminal is permanently connected to the element
  14. I have an electric radiator in my bathroom and have to agree. I have also had to add a correction to the temperature sensor to make it heat the room up properly.
  15. Off topic, but a bulb in my Neff oven tripped the main fuse when it blew. It also vaporised the main circuit board in the oven. The spare part has been discontinued. Fortunately an internet search showed where the damaged PCB tracks would be so I have fixed it and saved £1k+
  16. So you don't have to pay tax on the value of the motorcycle for every country you enter.
  17. Someone told me motorcycling is controlled falling over. Very perceptive.
  18. Through Dalby Forest can be nice
  19. The route through Newton Rawcliffe is nice as well. Lots of the roads around the area are quite bumpy though
  20. My sort of riding area, although I haven't been through Cropton recently.
  21. I often stop for a break for 5 minutes to look at the view, take pictures and swig some water from a Sigg bottle I carry on the bike, all without removing my flip-front helmet.
  22. I can't be certain, but different riders footpegs, handguards, pillion pegs, and maybe something else
  23. I ended up starting a new quote with them including any mods - halved my premium.
  24. Make sure that the higher quote includes your NCB - I had a problem with them when I made any change they lost a year of NCB in the process
  25. Is this post for real? One post to promote a dealer? Maybe I'm a cynic (who used to moderate a forum).
