  1. Correct- Elon Musk thinks you don't need radar to judge distance - cameras will do (NOT)

    Mrs

I had to ride my K1200RS up a plank into a fully loaded removal van. Even trickier was rolling it backwards down the ramp afterwards! Tying it down was the least of my problems.
  3. That toggles between CANbus mode and normal depending on the Optimate model but you need to turn the power on WHILE the leads are shorted.
  4. For bike reviews "nothing to prove"
  5. Weighs no more than the GS and less than the GSA. I have the smaller "sports" screen which improves the profile a little, I think
  6. I would suggest the BMW RT rather than the GS. Having ridden the GS/R/RS and RT and owned the R and now RT I can never understand the popularity of the GS.
  7. It depends on your email program and how it's set up. With thunderbird you can avoid opening 3rd party links unless you specify in inbox
  8. I had this a few weeks ago. Decided to remove all payment methods from my PayPal account as a precaution. I rarely use PayPal now anyway.
  9. An exception would be as a starter or pudding
  10. Add the fact that some comments in the feedback are identical, word for word, from different people ...
  11. Not really - brilliant place to visit. I was there on business in the early 1990s and it took me until 2018 to finally get there for a holiday - for my 60th birthday
  12. Filter to see "verified" reviews and there are NO 5 star reviews.
  13. I have test ridden quite a few BMWs over the last few years. Take photo ID and the code from DVLA to be able to show you licence details ( or national insurance number). At my dealer there is a £509 excess on their insurance and they are happy for me to take them for a few hours and pick up 'er indoors so she can see if she likes it. You just have to replace the fuel used.
  14. Oh, and I tried sonic deterrents - useless. I assume the sod couldn't find its way out anyway.
  15. A rat got into my loft (and down the cavity and under the floor). Get a professional in to kill the bugger ASAP. My alarm kept going off as it chewed through the wiring and it chewed through the shower control cable. The cost of the professional killer was considerably less than the cost of fixing the damage, and trying to get all the possible gaps filled where it could have got in.

    Organising

I just use my phone - calendar, tasks and b-folders for secure notes.
  17. Torque. I used to ride a Kawasaki 2 stroke powevalve which was quick when you kept it above 8000rpm. That seems a bit frantic. Also, if you are doing a steady speed you need to drop a few gears to get the power to overtake. With big bikes you often don't have to change gear to overtake- just open the throttle.
  18. A couple of months ago I looked at the fixed rate options on my Scottish Power account - it decided I would have to pay £131,000 a year. No idea why. I stuck with the standard, variable tariff!
  19. It is not uncommon for the connector joints on the PCB to fail due to the force of putting the plug in and out.
  20. Have you tried reflowing the solder? It is difficult to tell how good the joints are from the picture.
  21. You need to look up the techniques for picking up motorbikes - even 300kg+ bikes should not present a problem with the right technique on your own.
