    Chain Cleaning

Cover the wheel with a plastic sheet, use a chain cleaning brush and paraffin to degrease the chain. Finish cleaning using brake cleaner sprayed onto a terry towel.
  2. The vacuum connection is what opens the fuel tap diaphragm. It needs to connect to a connection on the cylinder head inlet stub or the carb rubber. No connection, no fuel and sucking in air.
  3. That's a good way of giving money away.
  4. Probably need more than sealant. Make a gasket out of a cornflakes or cereal box.
  5. Was anything else done to restrict it?
  6. I bought one at the NEC bike show two years ago. Cost 120 quid, but could start a diesel car. Worked great.
  7. Imay be there tomorrow and Friday . Pm your number if you want me to call in?
  8. May be in Sarfampton tomorrow and Friday mate, but in my bus picking up GSX parts Thanks Cat, looking forward to seeing you too.
  9. Where are you?
  10. Gonna try to make the rally. Think I'll go for another outfit this year.
  11. Thanks everyone. Yeah, Oz was great And NZ awesome. Wouldn't let me stay though, too old and too idle. I'll bore you to tears with my stories. When and where is the rally? House sale should complete in June, then I'll be travelling. Gonna sell the ZZR, as it hurts my knee too much. Need another cruiser or feet forward modded muscle bike. Gonna start travelling in June in the minibus with bike and camping gear. Looking forward to seeing your ugly mugs again. Gill, where's my uniform???
  12. Just letting you all know that I've been back in the UK since April 1st . Bought a ZZR1100 and a Transit minibus. I'm selling my house soon and then going on a tour of the uk. Hopefully I'll meet a lot of you on my travels?
  13. 15/47 sounds like very very low ratio, are you sure? Is that standard?
  14. I don't think you need aheavy duty £155 chain on a Bandit 600. By all means buy a DID X ring Gold though. Chain breaker should also rivet. Paid £50 for mine on eBlag.
  15. Agree with Chris. Good quality A2 or A4 stainless bolts will be ok. Don't grease the bolt threads though, fit em dry.
  16. Should be ok mate. Probs only one O ring in there anyway. I'd keep the others tight while you swap one at a time. Tighten that one ,then swap another.
  17. You won't deform the piston unless it gets close to melting point. Use a proper tool to push the pin out or you will damage something.
  18. Sounds like dodgy selector forks or worn selector drum. Try to be more positive when shifting.
  19. Buy or hire a gudgeon pin removal tool. Don't lean on the top of the conrod or you will damage the big end bearing.
  20. I'm out every weekend and during the week. Usually meet at 1066 cafe on A21 near Robertsbridge.
  21. Don't bother with mild steel pipe and chroming. The mild steel will rot and the chrome will be too expensive. But 304 stainless. Loads of companies on ebay will supply adaptors or will make exactly what you want.
  22. Do not fit a so called Performance air filter!!! If it flows more air, you will need to modify the carb to flow more fuel. If you don't , it will run lean and destroy your engine.
  23. Funnily enough I've just sold one to a mate, with a car full of spares. If you need anything, just ask.
  24. Buy stainless Allen screws.

    Forks.

If you can't undo the damper bolt at the bottom with the top nut still in and pre load on max, you will have to remove top nut, and spring etc to access the top of damper and use a special tool or homemade tool to stop damper turning. I use a piece of wood.
