    mixing tyres

Never had a problem mixing tyres.
  2. Buy new stainless from Delkevic or Sandy Bike spares.
  3. It's not a wire, it's a tube. Wires have metal down the inside. Buy a workshop manual and read it. Also watch Youtube maintenance videos.
  4. Don't fook about , just replace your fork seals and dust seals.!!!
  5. After a ride, roll to a stop without using front brake. Check temperature of discs by touch. If one is significantly hotter than the other you need to exercise and clean the pistons URGENTLY or you will warp a disc. Undo caliper, put a piece of thin wood between pads, pump brake until pads grip the wood. Clean any crud off pistons and polish until shiny. Apply a smear of Red rubber grease to shiny surface. Push pistons back into caliper and refit. Repeat with other caliper. If discs still getting hot, you need to strip and service the calipers.
  6. I don't go anymore and I live 12 miles away. Too many dangerous dickheads around. If you do go, I suggest you arrive before 1000 and avoid the A21. Usually lots of accidents, police and usually a fatality.
  7. Well they would wouldn't they ? That's the problem with not doing things yourself, you don't know whether it was a tight fit before they started or not.
  8. Shouldn't have to spring the swingarm apart to get the wheel in ???

    Exhaust can

Just looked at a few pics of a Gladys silencer. No sign of any cable to it , so it's probably for show or somehow opens automatically. Try blowing down it ?

    Exhaust can

I know about the earlier Blade's exup valves before the silencer. Not sure about post 2008 Blade set up, but there is a valve inside the Cat/silencer that isn't an Exup valve and I thing it's there for noise regs, ie it only opens above the metering revs, about 5000 to 6000 revs. Don't know about Gladys silencers though?

    Exhaust can

Don't think so, think it's to do with noise regs .

    Exhaust can

Wasn't thinking Exup valve Stu, that's usually before the silencer. Some bigger bikes have a valve inside the Cat. I think newer Blades do.
  18. Best maintenance for a Chinese bike is, ride it to some waste ground, accidentally disconnect the fuel line, allow fuel to dribble all over the bike and into a large puddle underneath it , then accidentally create a spark very close to the spilt fuel. Make sure you are fully insured first though!

    Exhaust can

It could be that there is a valve inside the silencer that opens once the engine reaches a certain rev range.
  20. A mate of mine may have some off his B6 scrapper. I'll ask him after Easter.

Have you checked or changed the steel plates?
  22. Yes Joe . I'm selling everything and living in Australia and New Zealand for at least 9 months. So this meet will be my last chance to see you lot for a while. Unless you can get down my way Joe ?
  23. Strip chrome off and paint it black or buy a stainless pipe. Fairly soon there will be holes in that one.
  24. Route 66 isn't route 66 anymore. A lot of it is freeway.
  25. She's 17 Matt and weighs about 9 stone. I weighed 9.5 stone when they fitted me.
