I must admit, if it for summer riding, as in proper summer riding, so what if your gloves and hands get wet? If I am touring in the summer and have been caught out with bad rain, my light Oxford vented gloves get wet and then within 30 minutes of riding in the dry, they are dry again. Once, when it was bucketing down, I got some food preparation gloves from a Mcdonalds and wore them underneath the gloves as they were sticking to my hands. But it was summer, it was not cold!

I have parts of the lining for sale, but never an entire replacement liner where everything inside can be replaced, so it like an entirely new interior. I have mainly had Shark helmets.

There gets to a point where replacement is the only option. I have found the sprays and washing to be of limited effect. It is a shame makers do not seem to design and sell the padding separately so the interior can be replaced.

I think you should just keep on visiting shops till you find one you are comfortable with. I have to admit to wasting money on helmets which after a week or so I had to admit to myself did not properly fit me. Thankfully they were all a bit neat and my son has been able to grow into them.

You are a cautious rider, so am I, so are lots of people. That is your style. It has the huge advantage of being the safest way to ride a bike.

What is it about ER5s? My mate has a half restored one in his garage. I suspect one days work would at least get it running..... I agree you need to tackle the rusty bits and I think black hammerite paint to go over rust, is the quickest and easiest solution.

The police would need a way to measure that light reduction which could be used there and then. I doubt such a thing exists.

Is one possible why some get glare and others do not, down to cleaning? I would clean my visor with pinlock insert in, as I would visors with no pinlock, using Muck off visor cleaner.

If I could have kept my YBR I would have. I doubled the mileage from 4000 (done by 4 previous owners) to 8000 and sold it for £300 less than I paid for it (well traded it in with the trade in value beign £300 less). It never let me down, but like you, keeping on top of corrosion using Hammerite was a regular job. I like you are carrying tons and using it all year round.

I started with Bike it out of Paisley and switched to Ride On out of Hillington. Ride On used better bikes (twice, once the bike I was on, once the intructors bike, broke down with Bike It) and I preferred the Ride On instructors. But that was 7 years ago, so no idea how they are now. Try testers with both and see which you prefer. Most places off a free hour or so to see what you think.

My Shark Skwal, the helmet with the LED lights built in, so ideal for night time, has pinlock. I have never had any issues riding in the dark, from roads with street lights to roads in the countryside and light is just form headlights.

I had to ditch the helmet after a very sweaty long weekend of touring and camping in Spring 2017, the liner was yuck. The visor was scratched to buggery as well. Missed it terribly for TMBF rally and all the tagging I did. So, start of 2018 and one pops up on ebay in an auction and I get it for £161, bargain. It is the Evoline 3 Moov It I know it is the 3 and this review is for the 2, but the only difference that is clear, is that the lining is thicker and made out of nicer materials. The claims of it is lighter and more aerodynamic must be minimal improvements. It still has the irritating top seal, which needs rubbing with goopy stuff to stop it folding back in on its self. I eventually trimmed it off the old helmet and it made no difference to the seal and noise. All the positives are still there.

Picked up a Shark Evoline 3 (the one with the flip round chin guard) for £160 off eBay. Won the bidding by £2.65. The same helmet is up for sale for £230 in various online sellers. I had one before, which I wore till it stank, the lining was going soft and I could not get it to wash properly! So I knew the size was OK. Delighted.

I think that with some of the tags being not so easy to photo the bike with, my suggestion is that for tags that are hard to get the bike to, be constructive, such as include your helmet in the photo or take a selfie in your gear. Just remember to include the number.

Confused now, if prisons are such crap places to be why are they so overcrowded? The thought of going to prison should act as a deterrent, I don't always believe in the old adage "an eye for an eye", but I would let the people he threw acid over, who will have to live with not just the psychological and emotional scars for the rest of their lives, but also the physical ones, decide on what his punishment should be, now that would be justice. One of the reasons they are so crap is because they are so over crowded. They are overcrowded because the public and government demands more poeple are locked up, but refuse to fund the necessary spending. My solution for a crime such as acid attacks, is that since the victim has to live with the scars for life, the punishment should be for life. That does not mean a life behind bars. It can mean a life time of doing community service, or wearing tag or an annual compensation payment. I would have life time fines, meaning a punishment could be a fine of £500, which has to be paid every year for the rest of a persons life. There are lots of options for very effective punishments that could keep peopel out of prison, whilst making sure they and others are deterred from committing crime. I would do that for lots of crimes. Many motoring offences should attract life time bans, such as fleeing the police, a third drink driving offence, a third driving whilst disqualified. I think that fraudsters who rip people off should face a possible life of having any income they get is reduced till ALL the money is paid back.

Another recommendation for Lomo from me. The bags are tough and completely water proof.

I would certainly like to see his rehabilitation include meeting burns victims. If he shows remorse, his rehabilitation is progressing. If he clams up and refuses to accept what he did was wrong, he stays in prison for longer.

I based myself at the Dolau Inn near Newtown and did 2 days excellent riding picking up the Welsh tags a few years back. Biker friendly, great food.

There is leeway. But there still needs to be rules. It is a challenge after all and it should need a bit of thought and planning. I rode 120 miles round trip to near Edinburgh and photographed my bike with the Forth Bridge. I positioned my bike with its tag and the road bridge. I should have photoed the rail bridge. I was given the points because I was clearly there, with a tag doing the challenge. I would give Mawsley the points if it was a situation like that. I would have riden back to the Forth Bridge if I lived in Edinburgh and it was straighforward. (I was passing later that year and did take a photo out of principle). I also rode to the Drover's Inn (a tag again this year) which is a 74 mile round trip and realised I had forgotten my number. I borrowed a pen and a bit of paper and used that.

That is just not true. Our prisons are mostly crap places that help to re-inforce criminal behaviour as it is dog eat dog inside. Ironically, if you do want less reoffending, you want the Scandinavian model of prisoners treated well, give jobs and training, the vote and the oncentive to become a productive member of society. If you want more, treat them like a "Chinese jail". If someone treats you like scum, brutalises you and removes self control and dignity, would you bow down and accept that you are filth? Or would you fight back? Respect is earn't not given, if you think that in fighting back and throwing acid at innocent people going to win you respect. Well seriously!! I don't think that. The boy is a thug, but continue to treat him like a thug and will forever be a thug. The most likely way to turn his life around and make it more productive is to teach him respect, for himself and others.
