1. Do you do a job that means you will likely be replaced with a robot in the next ten years or so? I do meals on wheels deliveries. I can see me in ten years time, being driven from drop to drop by a driverless car, programmed with all the stops and taking the most efficient route. It will be some time before I can be replaced as we go in to do a welfare check and often plate and serve the food. I am sure that could also be done by a robot, but it will be longer than ten years away.
2. Why not go as a tent?
3. My first long ride after my CBT and getting my Yamaha YBR125 was to a friend who lives about 50 miles away. I had to plan it so as to avoid motorways, which is what I would normally use to do the route. I remember the excitement, being quite nervous, the planning and the journey felt huge.
4. Insurance premiums can go down if you use approved devices. There are drop down boxes when getting online quotes which show you the list. I have Datatag and a Kryptonite combined disc lock and chain attached to a ground anchor.
5. I do intend to get out and tag, the south of Scotland is planned to be done in one day. Had to cancel twice, but hopefully soon.

Carb Chaos

Eat more protein.
7. You keep saying "we". You know you cannot ride together on the bike with L plates? I presume you mean we where you have your own bikes, one or both of which is on L plates. As for basic maintenance, I would suggest the you tube videos by Tamsen Cooper (who is a forum member) and start with the recent "Spring Motorbike Check" for ten basics checks before you leave. You should make sure you have breakdown recovery for added reassurance.
8. What to do is donate money, watch your gang status increase as your name goes orange and you enjoy Stu's 24/7 personal protection.
9. Wait, beat them up? You have met me remember It is the pleasant, unassuming ones you have to watch.
10. Scenario - You are parked up at a popular bike stop. You see someone with a TMBF t-shirt on and they have made a TMBF logo patch which is on their jacket. You go and speak to them and find they are not a forum member at all, they just like the idea of the forum and like the look of the logo. Do you - Report them to Stu and rennie our MCs so they can be hunted down and assassinated by Liveware Problem . Just beat them up and strip them of their t-shirt and badge there and then. Ask them to join the forum. Chat to them, think it is a bit weird they were the t-shirt and patch and then leave them be.
11. No, but going by what the weather is to be like, I suspect it will be a procession of bikes up and down the loch road to Tyndrum all day long. Last weekend on the Sunday I saw more bikes than at the motorbike show!
12. I agree with back to the dealer. They often have to do an end build of the bike depending on how it arrives with them. Bikes are transported in packing cases and may not have had the front wheel or bars fitted during transportation, which the dealer then fits. There could be an issue with them or the original build.
13. I meant make them worse than they already are. They will always likely be dickhead drivers. When on L plates and my YBR125, I got tail gated and beeped at by an arctic lorry. I went slowly between traffic lights on a round-a-bout, I think too slowly for him. I just rode normally and lost him.
14. I would not specifically pull over to let them passed, that may act as an encouragement to the driver to bully others out of their way. I would ignore them (avoid road rage incidents) and ride cautiously until they go away.
15. I think once you are in, you do not really have anything to prove anymore.
16. I was just about to suggest a rescue greyhound as they are calm (except the short bursts of exercise), don't bark much and sleep a lot so are OK being left alone.
17. There is certain kit that goes with certain bikes. Adventure tourer riders are often seen wearing patchwork Long Way Round type gear. Any cruiser is leather jacket and jeans. Sports bikes are all in one leathers. My favourite was a babe in a bikini as pillion on a sports bike going full pelt through the tunnel at Monaco. That looked totally appropriate for the situation.
18. 100mph as a pillion over the Forth Road Bridge with no top box. The most unpleasant thing I have ever done. But I have yet to get my first rectal examination. That may be worse.
19. I really enjoyed my trip to Wales and would recommend here as a great biker base; https://thedolauinn.co.uk/
20. I can understand wearing an actual club patch or look a like, when you are not in the club is wrong. But a general patch not affiliated to anything that is just a fashion thing, what is the problem with that? Or am I missing the point, again, in my life in bubble?
21. Throttled Jnr will only ride pillion with a top box or bag full of camping gear in the rack. A pillion who feels secure is a better pillion.
22. Orkney is a place I would like to go.
23. x2. Had mine for about 4 years now and they still look new. They also did well in testing to see how long they lasted when subjected to an abrasion test.
24. Happy birthday
25. Armoured cable lock, the type which coils up, so it fits neatly in my top box. I am lucky and the town and city near me have lots of motorbike parking with barriers to lock the bike to and this is perfect; http://www.oxfordproducts.com/graphics_cache/d/1/1674-of145--.jpg
