  1. I'm easy, before Friday though, back to work Saturday Sunday, I seem to remember you saying that wet weather riding wasn't your thing... This may change your mind
  2. No offence mate but does your girlfriend ride a bike? If she does I struggle to see how she can think that comment is logical. I found that on a small bike, especially with L plates drivers seem to think it's ok to attempt to bully you. I have a lot more road presence on a big bike. I couldn't believe it when I first got on it. There was a big change in drivers attitudes towards me, when I went from a 125 with L plates to passing. That was nothing compared to when I got on my current bike. £615 is a good price for the lot. If you have been on the road, I wouldn't worry about the theory too much, I bought a practice cd for the PC for my bike theory and never failed one mock attempt. Waste of money really. Had been driving 5 years then. A 600 is only as fast as your right hand. And you posted in the wrong section
  3. If you get paid monthly then on your payday pay a deposit of around three hundred pounds towards the price of a full package (CBT, Theory, DAS) I didn't do it but there was a lad there who did his training and mod 1 with me and he paid £700 for the lot. Can be finished in about a week iirc. Book the test for the next month you get paid. Pay the remaining 400 off and pass your test. Funny the amount of my mates who ask me about passing the test, when I tell em to do that they claim to not be able to afford it but can happily spend £7 a day on fags and god knows how much on ale. I'm not saying you do, but if you can make sacrifices 2 months from now you could be swinging your leg over a 600cc bike instead of walking to work...
  4. When you finalise a date I might be interested, depends on work commitments though, the euro's are a major ballache this summer.. I have been wanting to do Abersoc then through snowdonia for a few months now.. This would give that trip some purpose (used to go surfing at Hells Mouth as a kid)
  5. Would be mate but I gotta work unfortunately..
  6. Yeah it was Gaz on the GPZ (me). I was revving the bollocks of it most of the time. To be fair to the bike it seems to have taken the abuse pretty well, didnt miss a beat all day and it's 14 years old. Its hard to pinpoint a worst bit, there were hardly any bad aspects to the day. I'll have to say the twisties just before we got on the M6 going, I came out a corner above the 7k powerband, I gunned it and hit a sort of lip that I didn't see, ended up taking off but didn't expect it and ended up landing bollock first on the tank.. That brought a tear to my eye.. My Best bit was probably the road to Hawkes after the farm where your just surrounded by drystone Walls one minute then the next your on this tiny little road snaking across the moors. Had a bit of a somewhat euphoric moment when I hit that. Felt incredible.
  7. Britney will be coming soon to a ride near you!!
  8. Fine rear? It's a 14 year old Kawasaki.. lol sorry mate, thought it was your good self on the DD.. I thought you were making reference to the pillion that came along. Fair play to that guy, and to his pillion he was riding at some pace for 2-up
  9. Fine rear? It's a 14 year old Kawasaki..
  10. Don't forget great mohawks, shame about the pigtails. Your helmet could have been one of the highlights of the day.. Unfortunately I'm at a wedding on the 15th, don't think I can't bail as I'm the best man. I am tempted though 31st Thanks to Graham for organising things, and Lee for extending it to the Aprillia guys. It made the day!
  11. Be there about 12/12:15
  12. I'm at rivi barn now, I'll post an eta when everyone arrives
  13. The chain tensioner really is no big deal. I dunno about your bike but it's an hour job or so on mine. Thing the worst you'll get is a bit of a rattle. No major mechanichal issues. If Honda told you, you needed it done, they would have told you not to ride it if there was any risk wouldn't they.. If they didn't advise you that and you rode it and it knackered they wouldn't be in a brilliant position. Been up since half 5 with the baby :/ thought they were menna sleep better the older they got..
  14. Cam chain keeps your top and bottom end in sync. Ensures your cams rotate correctly with the crank.. Basically keeps your pistons moving up and down at the right time for your valves opening and closing.. The tensioner just keeps that chain tight. It's no biggie. If your actual cam chain fails your valves drop and your pistons hit them, then it's probably cheaper to buy a reconditioned top end or complete second hand engine than to repair your current one..

    ZZR600e rear shock

Nope, I have a Kawasaki and the shocks can't be rebuilt At least on the cheaper end ones. Hagon shocks are around the £300 mark dependent on the bike.
  16. My dad spent £10k on a campervan, without checking It would fit in the garage. As a result the past few months have been spent raising the garage roof up 14''. As a result of this the garage door didn't fit the opening it should have covered. To combat this my dad welded a frame out of angle iron and bolted some roller shutter door offcut onto the frame which was then mounted onto the door. Unfortunately it's added a considerable amount of weight to the garage door, and unless you fully open the door it has a nasty tendency to swing down with considerable force. I found this out the hard way. I will be sporting a rather small but deep dent in my head and a nice graze on my cheek where I didnt quite get out of the way of the initial impact in time
  17. How would we go about doing that? Is it the contacts group in user panel? scroll down on the main page and there is a contacts section! I can't access it...
  18. Yeah I think you pointed me in the direction of that site when I did the review on it.. Saw this on there and I plan to do this to it as even with brand new rubbers in there's still a substantial amount of snatch when rolling on and off the throttle.. Even with a brand new x ring chain & sprockets..

  20. Don't worry we will briefly stop at main junctions to wait. Just enjoy the day its a 500cc yes? Yeah, 500cc. I'll take my time and see how I get on..
  21. Well I'm deffo in, I'm on a slow bike and haven't ridden group before so I assume I'll be towards the back... the weather looks like it's turning on Saturday, fingers crossed for Sunday..
  22. Can watch the video now, can't make out the needles too clearly. I would strip the carbs, clean the air filter and put new plugs in. Isnt it still under warranty if you bought from a dealer?
  23. I would be checking the carbs first. Has it had fuel sat in the tank for a while? Maybe your jets could do with a clean. Have you checked the spark plugs??
