  1. Tango and GOG had a bit of fun on the B 1198 on the way back
  2. Back home from work. Japanese colleagues on their way to Munich for their next visit so it's all systems go for bike night
  3. I wasn't stranded, Stu........I'd already b*ggered off....... This is true
  4. Yes, it was an eventful run back. I called Green Flag but then cancelled them when I got going. The Bonnie is a right diva. The edge of the A1 is not fun with no hard shoulder when it is sleeting and hailing with lorries going past. Fortunately I wasn't too far from a junction and a guy stopped to help me. He wasn't a biker but probably should be. He had an awesome platted beard! I'd already lost Bob because we couldn't see bugger all. Bob went back for the car while I phoned the breakdown people but when the sun came out, Bonnie decided to start! Need some beer now
  5. Yeah, we didn't go so it didn't rain, typical! Will be dropping some Japanese colleagues off at Birmingham airport next Tuesday afternoon and can come straight home from there so should be back in time
  6. Glad there was an answer However............ Made me lol. Don't really know why except its been a long day back at work after a week off
  7. Regarding the whole 'freedom of movement for criminals'thing. The home office can and do stop the passage of criminals. There is also such a thing as a European arrest warrant. It would be better for a our security if there were improved communications of police records between countries, both within and outside the EU - not something that would be particularly helped by Brexit. What worries me most about this referendum is the amount of scaremongering and half truths ON BOTH SIDES of the debate. One could be forgiven for thinking that everyone is talking through their respective arses (oops, I forgot, we are talking politicians and newspapers here)
  8. Is it nearly a year since we met the Shandy Drinkers? How time flies
  9. Well, adding up the biscuits, poangs, bedframe and throwing in a mattress and second hand table and chairs, it is still sub £300 (impressive haul though). It would be cheating though because the bike has been sitting in my garden for 3 years
  10. And a triple pack of ginger nuts on account
  11. Does the YBR count? I can 'buy' it from my daughter in exchange for two second hand Ikea poang chairs and a bed frame.
  12. Yeah, can't beat buying bike bits. I've a carbon fibre exhaust on the Speed Four that is LOUD. That would work well on the TT600
  13. That's pretty much what I want out of them. I'm a scientist though and love graphs and statistics (sort of)
  14. A lot of people at work seem to have the Fitbit (flex or charge HR) but they are pretty ugly and not waterproof. I might just play with some apps and try and carry my phone more! You seem to have to spend quite a lot to get something particularly accurate as a lot don't have GPS and, unless you are serious sports person, the really good ones seem a bit much.
  15. I'm using the health app on my iPhone but, being a girly and not always having a pocket etc.. I often leave the phone on my desk at work when I go down to the warehouse etc. I don't carry it around the house at all and I think it may also be a bit less accurate when 'handbag mounted' so wearable/sync-able seemed a better option.
  16. Worth it or just a gimmick? I'm thinking of one for monitoring everyday activities and encouraging me to get a bit fitter. For hiking, maybe a gentle run/cross trainer etc.. not for serious training or anything ( ) Waterproof would be good, maybe sleep monitoring, not sure about HR tracking and preferably one that will also tell you the time as I don't want to wear two wristbands. Not mega expensive either (need money to spend on bikes and beer ) Any suggestions?
  17. Regarding the exhaust. I'd be inclined to try and get hold of a better quality second hand Suzuki one from fleabay (other sites available) rather than an aftermarket new one (unless you are planning on buying new genuine). Most of the OEM ones for 125s I've come across look lovely and shiny to start with but are shockingly bad, turning to rust in about a year.
  18. Reasonably balanced article: https://woodfordfunds.com/economic-impact-brexit-report/ Not very exciting though and full of what ifs? I work for a Global Japanese company with my Divisional HQ in France our overall HQ is Japan via a European holding company. In general, I think of myself as European. In the UK work primarily with the NHS and university sector with already very squeezed margins. Any additional import duty on our products and we could well be out of business. Also Europe has done more than the UK in upholding human rights, working time, general employment rights than UK. Brussels isn't unelected if you bother to vote for your MEP. On a lighter note, do we really want 2 million pensioners coming back from Spain and other sunnier European climes to put a strain on our already overstretched NHS? Also, who will our Government blame when it all goes t!ts up next time?
  19. Would agree (and I'm normally a don't bother the docs unless you're dying sort of gal) Give the out of hours docs a call and see what they say. It sounds like a possible chest xray and maybe IV antibiotics thing so chances are they'll want you up the hospital anyway.
  20. The Bonnie is on the right in the garage next to the Speed Triple (facing in) so if I put it on the side stand there is less space for stuff between the two bikes. Actually moving all the stuff (including two Honda wheels) to get my bike in and out probably didn't help either. The actual riding was no problem . Need a bigger garage! Trouble is we'd be compelled then to get more bikes
  21. Glad you are feeling better Alan - I think I might have pulled something a bit getting the Bonnie on the centre stand but nothing major hopefully. Hoping to do a few weekends away this year but definitely want to get all the 'local' ones. Possible Northumbria week too and there's a few not far off the A1, heading North.
  22. Cool. The Exhibition is about a quarter of a mile from ours. The Sun is in St. Neots and only a mile or so from the town square with cafes which is a popular meeting spot for bikes on a Sunday. You have a choice of two Black Bulls.
  23. If anyone wants to meet up near me and Tango, we would happily take you round the 'pub route' plus some of the better roads round here. The next nearest tag is a fair distance but I'm hoping to get more done this year. Definitely recommend bikes as post-operative therapy (once everything has healed of course). Blows away the cobwebs for me and cleared out the Bonnie's carbs. Kermit the Speed Four is on the optimate now, getting ready.
  24. 1st ride since my operation so I though I'd try a pub crawl White Horse Wagon and Horses Sun George and Dragon Barley Mow Horseshoe Barley Mow Royal Oak Black Bull Exhibition Pubs completed Three Tuns
