  1. When I, and a few others on here started, you got your bike up to 250CC fitted "L" plates and away you went. Yep.....jump on the bike and off you go.....no training at all!! I must admit that I got my dad to pick my first bike up from the dealers and bring it home in his van......I then spent a few days around the local roads before I commuted into London on it.....
  2. I think we're planning on heading over there, Steve........This week I think we'll try to park nearer the road if we can.......
  3. They look more like winter gloves than summer weight ones......but you'd need to try them to be sure........or you could buy them and get a pair of silk inner gloves for the real cold weather.....
  4. I agree with spanner.....This is the dealers problem......get them to sort it......
  5. Bonniebird's daughter is into Pirate Metal too.......Arrrrrrrrr!......
  6. Could be an expensive bargain then, Stu......
  7. No size options, Arwen.....so I suspect they've sold out of them.....
  8. Yeah, I've used the non-slip matting under a tankbag on an old bike previously, mainly to protect the paintwork. ......It worked well......
  9. Hmmmmm. ....I see your dilemma. Have you tried a tailpack with some of that non-slip matting stuff underneath? I use a Kreiga Tailpack on the back of my Speedy, but also have to put some non-slip matting underneath to stop it sliding about on the back of the bike......
  10. I've not seen this tent before.......but we've got a vango tent that we carry on the bike (well.....on Bonniebird's bike) that we've had for a few years now. It's a 3 person tent with largish porch which is ideal for storing the bike gear.......it's very similar to this one..... http://www.sportswarehouse.co.uk/vango-omega-350-tent/?m=simple&gclid=COi-uaGm0M4CFdZAGwodlC4LWw#.V7h14IpwbMI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Seems to have lasted well......and packs down to a reasonable size...... Stove wise, we just use one of this single burner jobbies that come in a plastic carrycase.
  11. An old work colleague bought a secondhand pillion seat pad for his bike and screwed a topbox base to it so he could put a topbox on there. When he wasn't needing the topbox, he just swapped the pillion seat pad over to the original...... BTW....Welcome to TMBF mate. ......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. ......
  12. It's not compulsory, Stu......
  13. A few bargains on Triumph clothing......If you're quick....... http://www.worldoftriumph.com/clothing-sale/motorcycle-clothing-sale.html?p=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  14. This sums it up nicely......
  15. That's what I'd do. .....
  16. It's right posh round here.......We have a recycling centre in St Neots......so you have to sort stuff out before you take it down there to make sure it all goes in the right places........ With clothing I tend to take it to the clothing recycling point at the local firestation. ......that way anything they make from it benefits the firefighters benevolent fund.......
  17. Ditto, spanner......although we can't walk along the prom at Morecambe, there are some fairly decent walks around here. Just ordered some new walking shoes as my trusty old Brashers have seen better days, and my ventilated Solomons that I wore last Sunday gave me a nice big blister on both heels. Absolutely agree with you about TV.......and about music. The rest of my non-work time is spent on the Forum or the Facebook groups I'm on......
  18. Many years ago a mate of mine picked a brand new bike up and his first ride on it was to a big bike meet where we were all waiting to see his new toy......He rode in, stopped and went to put his foot down......Unfortunately his jeans leg got caught on the footpeg and he just fell over sideways......to a huge round of applause from the big crowd of bikers........We did help him up though.......when we'd stopped laughing enough to actually be able to help him......
  19. Very few riders have not dropped their bike at some point.......The thing is to understand what happened and learn from it...... There's a lot to get the hang of when you first start riding, but it doesn't take long for a lot of it to develop into muscle memory. ....giving you the time to concentrate on enjoying the ride. So, don't beat yourself up over this......get back on the bike and chalk this one down to the learning experience. .....

    CBR125 2004 Problem

Have you adjusted the tickover screw?......may just need backing off a bit......
  21. The old joke: "I want to pass peacefully in my sleep like my grandad.......not screaming like the passengers on his bus".......
  22. We'll be there...... hopefully......
  23. Happy birthday Ollie..... Have a good'un mate.....
  24. Any of those, mate......just see what comes up at the right price......
  25. Thanks again for the birthday wishes folks....... No new bike I'm afraid GOG.....but some nice new shiny bike boots instead.......
