  1. Dont ya just do that with everything National Speak like Rossi day... It's a winning idea!!!
  2. Looks fantastic mate!! Just moved this to the Clothing section for ya!!
  3. Good read, but I could not help but put on his accent in my head as I read it!!
  4. The pads in the jacket are normally removeable mate.
  5. Not got one mate, but have seen their reputation slowly growing recently. Seems like a good price for a nice helmet. Just make sure it is a suitable shape for your head. A badly fitting helmet is no use in a crash.
  6. Very good attitude to have mate. Obviously a helmet... It's the law. After that though it's down to you. Make sure you get one that fits your head... We all have different shapes and some helmets simply don't sit right... Arai's are awesome helmets, but it sat totally wrong on my head so was useless... Tries a Shoei and it fits perfectly!!! Should be a tight fit as well. Gloves. Make sure you get some that allow good freedom of movement and good protection.... Chances are in an off your hands will be one of the first things to touch the road as you instinctivley put them out to stop yourself. After that mate, if you are riding in winter make sure they have warmth and waterproof.... Nothing worse than cold wet hands!! Boots. Same as Gloves really. Again good protection, waterproof and warm if riding in winter, although you can get good socks to keep you warmer. Jacket and Trousers. Up to you on this one. Either get leathers and by an oversuit to protect them against rain, or get textiles which will more than likely be waterproof.... Again if riding in winter, I would go for textiles as they are generally warmer. Technology has moved forward so much nowadays that unless you come off at insane speeds you will get as much protections from textiles as you would from leathers. If you can afford it, have summer leathers and winter textiles!! Make sure that the jacket has CE approved armour in the shoulders and elbows as well. Back Protector. A lot of people don't wear these, but £100 to save your spine being snapped in 2 in an accident sounds like a bargain to me. Lastly remember the little things. Different visors for different weather conditions, ear plugs (Wind noise will eventually send you deaf if you don't wear them), I wear a balaclava under my lid purely for comfort reasons, but at the same time it stops my helmet stinking from sweat. My winter balaclava also has neck protection from the wind as well. If you are riding through winter I would recommend thermals as well. Look at Cold Killers clothing. Awesome stuff. Comfy and really protects again the cold.
  7. Fantastic for the lad. Well deserved. Loved the bit at the end with the table and the helmet!!
  8. Could make things very interesting or very boring.... Hopefully the tyre manufacturers will keep things neutral and not favour one team and the bike manufacturers will work the bikes to the tyres well.... I suppose only time will tell.
  9. I'd shut up if I were you before you start losing friends!!! Out of interest which country are you from?
  10. would you still say this if you knew that in my country the temp never goes below 0 and doesn't rain that often. That just makes us jealous!! Go for leathers. For the small amount of rain you do get you can buy a simple rainproof over suit.
  11. Imagine what would happen if you came to one of my parties! Never been invited Never want to either!!
  12. So very very disturbing!!!
  13. Hi Mate Drop into Newbies and introduce yourself. Only thing I can think off is a lose bolt somewhere which is just resonating at those revs. Get yourself a haynes manual, a torque wrench and a socket set and work your way round the bike mate..... Has it got any performance issues when you hear the rattle?
  14. Right if you slide down the road they will protect your feet from getting tarmac rash..... If the bike lands on you though they probably won't do much for you. I would recommend you get some proper bike boots with good ankle protection... You will need them eventually anyway...
  15. Rossi Stoner Hayden
  16. Brilliant pics mate!!! Sorry Phil Gale. You photography services are no longer required!!
  17. Going anywhere in particular mate?
  18. Not cheap, but Alpinestar ain't. If you like it, want it, and can afford it, then get it mate. Shop around though... Like peeps have said get on Fleabay. Might have it cheaper.
  19. What school did you go with mate? I don't wanna start naming names to be honest, but between now and when I get my bike, I'm reading as much as I can! No worries mate, I understand. I went with Shires myself. I would recommend them to anyone. Very helpful, very friendly and taught me a lot!! http://www.shiresmt.com/
  20. What school did you go with mate?
  21. Poll is up for the weekend if you can all make it.
  22. Feather very very gently the rear brake sometimes. Very very gently though.
  23. Got to agree. Knox, Alpinestar and Forcefield are all meant to be good. Got a Knox one myself. Brilliant. Very comfy and does not restrict at all. Apparently the Forcefield ones are meant to be very good as well.
  24. Best advice really.
  25. Might be worth a try mate.... Going to go Thursday 4th I think.. Should be well into the swing of things by then I reckon.
