  1. I think Hlafords sell Castrol which is good. I would get yourself down to your local bike shop though. You will have more choice there.
  2. thats a confirmation on brekky as it used to be 11.30 but changed it ages ago feckers ..... I fail to see the problem with a Big Mac for Breakfast!!
  3. I actually have none waterproof Oxtars, and been caught in rain a few times..... Never had we feet yet. Can't get em to stop squeeking though!! Will give WD40 a try I think.
  4. Moved to the clothing section mate!! Read the label and see what it says mate. Should give you the best instructions!!
  5. Well Matlock is simply a great place for bikes. Good roads to, good roads from and plenty of places to stop with great tea, coffee and butties!!! Either that or the C&F just outside Buxton.
  6. Happy to come to anything. If you want to organise a route up to the C&F or even just Matlock it will be easy. Happy to act as sweeper, leader...
  7. Now this is what my Mum should have done with me. I was a right pathetic wuss when I was a kid.... Think I will tell her about this tomorrow!! Hehe good to know im a study Case I think every parent should do this, Wuss kid or not.. Its Brilliant! Jin x If I ever have kids (Not bloody likely) then once he / she can reach the pegs and I know they will hold on safely I will take them out.
  8. Now this is what my Mum should have done with me. I was a right pathetic wuss when I was a kid.... Think I will tell her about this tomorrow!!
  9. Gonna have a word with TC and see what we can do. Amazingly we have a pretty full calendar for the next few weeks!!! Good stuff this forum lark!!
  10. Done Kate... Just for you!! Once had a guy in a diesel ford focus try and race me up a slip road... Didn't realise my speed!! I mean a diesel Focus.... Why even bother!!
  11. Ok everyone. I will give people the choice of either meeting at the museum at around 11am or at Bassett's Pole McDonalds at between 10 and 10:30... I will be there with Willow and maybe a couple of others at just after 10am to get some grub from McD's. We will then be trailing off about 10:30 to get to the museum just before 11am. Link for Bassett's Pole is http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en ... 7&t=h&z=15 Route from BP to Museum is http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr ... 8&t=h&z=11 Ash, let us know about if others are coming. The more people coming the more will be tempted to join us!!
  12. I will probably do Matlock to Bassett's!! Sounds like a good laugh and last years pictures looked great!!
  13. Moved to Clothing section for you mate!! Just make sure the helmet fits your head mate. Thats the most important thing. It needs to be a good tight fit all round your head. I have a Shoei, but I know that Arai, Shark, AGV, and shed load of others all do the same job. The reason I bought Shoei was because the helmet was the right shape for me noggin!!
  14. Yeah, looks like you have the main stuff covered.... Little things should not be forgotten..... Ear plugs, balaclava (Personal preference for me but I always wear one under my lid), and probably a tinted visor for your lid.... Boots are necessary in my eyes. If the bike goes from under you suddenly you may well get a leg trapped under there. Your ankle could easily be crushed by a footpeg!!! Good protecting boots will stop such serious damage. I know I go on about worst case scenarios, but that's what protective gear is for!!
  15. It will protect you mate. It ain't ever gonna be as good as leathers, but it will hold up in the event of a crash..... unless you are doing silly speeds. It has CE approved armour which will be in shoulders and elbows I suspect. You should get a back protector though mate. Your spine is important!! Good jacket though mate. I am looking at getting Akito waterproof textiles myself in the near future.
  16. It ain't cheap stuff mate. It came as a shock to me as well!! I would recommend Akito for clothing.. Have a look here: http://www.everythingmotorcycle.co.uk/s ... /c_24.html As for boots, helmets, back protectors and gloves, just surf the web and you will find some good deals eventually..... I have been doing a lot of searching for a friend lately and almost every website you go to has a "Sale" or "Clearance" section at the moment. After that I would recommend you get yourself to the Motorbike Show in Birmingham in November.... Some good deals to be had if you look around. I got my helmet there last year which was retail price of £330 and I got it for £200. I also got good deals on Boots and Gloves as well mate!!
  17. Gonna be there tomorrow night if anyone is up for it!! Weather is meant to be ok, but their is a chance of showers. I will probably be there from about 7pm!!
  18. Yes mate, still happening. I am going to put up a post later about times to arrive and meeting places. Me and Willow are riding up from Derby together so if anyone else is coming from that area let me know.
  19. Hi Mate Welcome to the forum. Drop into Newbies and say hello. Not sure about the topbox. Normally you need to purchase a bike specific bracket that will then allow you to fit pretty much any top box to it. Nothing too bad to fit. It's normally a matter of removing the grab rail (If your bike has one), then fitting the bracket. The top box will normally just click on then. Hope this helps. Best thing you can do is surf round the web looking for what you need. If you have money to spend I would recommend Givi. Good stuff!!
  20. Well it looks like the one good day coming up for the next 5!! If anyone fancies a ride out anywhere around Derbyshire let me know. Oh, will be at MFN Monday night!!
  21. Well it's been raining all night here and still raining (At the moment incredibly heavily) here. I am going to cancel this from my end. TC, I hope your side has better weather and you can make it out still!!
  22. Not looking good weather wise. It's raining very heavily at the moment and puddles are forming where I have never seen them before. Could be really tricky on the roads tomorrow and looking at the weather report it's meant to be raining here from about 7am onwards. Rubbish!!! Unless everything is wrong and it's going to get very dry very quick I am out tomorrow and for safetys sake I would recommend everyone else does as well.
  23. Put it in the right place for you mate!
  24. Well with regret I think we should consider moving this to another date. The weather forecast suggest that serious rain today and tonight will lead to flooding over night and serious levels of standing water on the roads. That is followed by the fact that Saturday is not going to be dry either, therefore the standing water won't dissapear. I don't mind riding in a few showers but weather reports are suggesting that this we are looking at between 24 and 36 hours of solid rain. Everyone let me know what you think. I enjoy the challenge of riding in the wet, but I know when enough is enough.
