  1. Bin it and buy a Japanese bike!
  2. That shouldn't matter, bikes are surpossed to be weather proof. I'd try fitting new spark plugs first before you try anything else.

    Came off today...

If it was me, I'd get a scaffolding bar or something similar and use it to bend the peg back!

Now I can see the bigger picture, I don't think it is off the sidestand cut out switch, I don't even think it has a cutout switch. I think what you really need is an auto-electrician. Sorry I can't be more help but electrics really arn't my thing

It's hard to tell from the photo, but it could be a sidestand cut out switch wire.

  8. Nice to meet you all!

    Drive chain

In that case I'd change the chain really quick, it can only stretch so far before it breaks, and you don't want that to happen.

Are you sure the wheel isn't slipping forward?

    Thats beyond me, sorry!
  14. Yeah thats fine, say 9.30am. The way I go to the Ponderosa is Knutsford, A556, A54, A55, A550, A5104. Its probably not the most scenic route but it gets us there quick so we can enjoy the Welsh roads sooner!
  15. Personally I prefer my local bike shop to do it for me. He offers me a price that I like and accept and anything he makes over that is his. He also advertise's it for free, is an expert in selling bikes, stores the bike at his shop until it is sold, and is there all day to help sell it. All I have to do is decide wether I like the price he'll guarantee me. I realise most shops wont do this for you, but I guess its worth a try with any independant ones you know
  16. Yes please, central Macc is far better for me, just name somewhere you know and I'll meet you there.
  17. There might be one or two others with me and i'm meeting them at 9.30 (if they're not late) so I have no idea what time I'd be at the little chef. So i'll give it a miss this time and just meet you at the Ponderosa. Cheers for the thought though
  18. Thats ok, but i'm setting off from Macclesfield at 9.30, where is the horseshoe?

Exactly Yeah, i'd agree! Maybe it is to do with the timing then, but I'm not too good at electrical stuff, but there again if its electrical it doesn't really make sense that when your brother made a vaccum it ran okay. Maybe you should try that again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, then you'll know if its a fuel problem or electrical problem.

They have an air hole in them, if its blocked the carb can't draw more petrol, obviously yours is fine, but its a quick easy check so it was worth a try. Try the fuel cock next but make sure you've got no petrol in your tank

Right, well obviously it sounds like the fuels having a problem getting to the carb. First of all try the fuel cap off, if that doesn't work then I'd check the fuel cock (the bit where it comes out of the fuel tank)
  22. I always find big main dealers have a good mechanic thats in command of muppets. It's the muppets that tend to do the work. Where as a little independant guy has one decent mechanic and thats the guy who does the work!
  23. Yes you'll get ripped off by a main dealer! As for the indepenant guy, they usually have more to loose, so in my opinion they tend to do a better job, but theres probably a lot of bad ones too.

You haven't explained the problem very well which makes it difficult for us to help you. I don't really understand what you mean by the above but my intial thought after reading it would be to try it with the fuel cap off and see how it runs then
