  1. you seem to contradict yourself. You agreed that those "lanes" are no good for cyclists and potentially dangerous and than you condemn cyclists for not using them... The truth is that plenty of "cycle lanes" is just some paint on the road and often are incorrectly/unsafely placed so you cannot blame cyclists in those situations. No I'm not condemning the cyclists, my point is the cheap & hazardous way councils paint white lines on roads & then proclaim how wonderful they are by creating 'X' number of miles of track for cycle use,,, this type of creation is a danger to the cyclist & compressing vehicles closer together to create these tracks is plain stupidity ,,, I don't really hate all cyclists,, just some of them,, Like all other road users I truly believe that cyclists should carry insurance & contribute to road maintenance, But as I say, cyclists will do, what cyclists do, blame someone or something else,, it's never their fault
  2. Cycle tracks or lanes, I don't know what it's like round your area, but here in the Chester location cycle lanes are created by painting two white lines, one each side of the road a meter from the gutter, there you have it,, two cycle lanes,,,, all other traffic is left to cope with the loss of a two meter space, buses & big lorries now miss each other by inches rather than feet,, So do the cyclists use these lanes ? ? ? ,, NO, because like all roads the gutters are full of crape & drain grids,,, So the cyclists do what cyclists do,, ride as they please & moan if they get hurt
  3. have them fitted & balanced by by the experts,,
  4. So the drive is on to get more people back onto push bikes, with London leading the field in this campaign, The London spokesman said,, we are very pleased with the increase & will strive to improve on this achievement ,, However,,,,, we are concerned with the increased number of cyclists injuries, Really I wonder why
  5. might be that the cable drive had not located into the clock correctly, check that the two drive ends mate together properly,
  6. Hi Vicki,, I sold some gold last year, didn't like the idea of posting,, so looked in yellow pages to see what jewelry shops in my area bought gold,, phoned them up,, made an appointment,, took it in for appraisal,, came out with a cheque in hand, for the price of gold on that day weigh your gold in grams, look up the price of gold per gram,,, you've got an idea uf your value
  7. dont i look posh and proud Yes Miss Well done,, you've got a right to be proud
  8. No , not the first bike, nor even the second, But the third bike ( my BSA Road Rocket ) I cam still hear the coppers voice calling,, pull over to the side 75 NMA,, so he has me for over the 30 limit,, ,,,,,,, Yes I remember it well,,,, Rockets weren't to go slow,, well not that slow
  9. give it a load of WD 40 over a few days,, put two nuts on the thread tighten them both together,, get the engine as hot as you can,, then use the back nut to try and undo the thread,, the last ( second ) nut you fitted should act as a lock nut for the first,, as you try to undo it,,
  10. Really ,,,,, I've had two & both ran sweet as a nut From their intro in 2006 this is the first time I've heard this mentioned,

  12. Well, there you go wonderful thing technology ,, My 125 was twenty three years past 1976 & it was five years old when I bought it, first bike I ever had,,, it had a little cup on the inside of the tank filler cap,, one cup of oil to every gallon of fuel ,, so by todays standards primitive,,,, but hey,, it never went wrong
  13. Have a good one G,O,G Old & Grumpy takes years of practice Being a Git comes easy
  14. Now I'm Confused, in my day 125s, worked on an oil mix in the main tank, but that was long ago & I've never bothered with them since, so do modern 125s have two tanks,, one for fuel + one for oil ????? seems cockeyed to me, how do you know if your mix is correct ????
  15. 125 two stroke,, going back many a long year (pre jap bike ere) I had a 125 twin port two stroke that suffered from power loss, so much so, I had to walk along side it in first gear to get up some of the steeper hills after a lot of faffing around I found out that the exhausts were blocked with the carbon deposit that all two strokes produce, so the engine suffered from back pressure being unable to expel the exhaust gasses,,, A lot of hard work, loads of caustic soda & boiling water cleared them out,, but it was a job well done & the bike ran well,, it might be worth checking,,,, just a thought
  16. Jack the car up, turn the wheels to see if there are any excessive tight spots if they run fairly free, then it's down to wheel balance or the tyres themselves, find a tyre bay that can spin them up on the car to localise which wheel is the problem,,,,,,,,

  20. Try Kenya, Bangladesh, Columbia, Vietnam or any of the countries who house the more than half the world's population whose day is spent trying to survive till the next one and you'll appreciate the soft. luxurious lifestyle even the most hard done by in this country live. There are far more below us on the ladder than there are above. I do appreciate my life style, as a child born in Birmingham & living through the bombing, devastation & hardship of the second world war, then through period of food rationing, of course I appreciate what I have,, but I tell you what, there were no over feed, fat McDonalds raised fat people roaming the streets at that time,,,,, these days it seems to be that much wants more...

  22. just been looking at some of the new 2013 goole satellite maps,, they really are good,,,,,,,,, talk about big brother,,
  23. Ooops,,,raised,,,wrong word,,,,, raising is the one,,, think it was last year the government was talking in terms that the retirement age should be 70,, work till your life is about to expire,,, who said slavery was abolished Six million,,,, as stated on last night news
  24. Makes you wonder, the government raised the retirement age to 70 because they say pensioners are living to long & are a drain on the state pension ,,,,, So old people being forced to work longer & clogging up jobs that could be used to help bring down by some of the six million un-employed,,,,, pensioners are one or two old people living out their twilight years, while six million en-emloyed get all the state benefits plus all the allowances required to live, feed & raise a family with children,,,,,, I'm not knocking the un-employed it's not their fault, but this government seem to me have got their sums arse about face,,,,,,,,,,,,
